A white blindness. Nothing in my eyes but light. This kind of an all-swallowing brilliance was supposed to sting, but there was a soft quality to it—warm and fond like a mother's embrace. The light enveloped everything there was to reach, taking up space and time as though it was claiming a momentary ownership. And then, like water being diluted, the strong light gradually ebbed. Like something that was alive, it gathered itself into a white streak and dove back into my hand in a speed as though it was being sucked into my palm.
I breathed, feeling the flow of my magic along every inch of my body. Unlike last time, rather than exhaustion and fatigue, I felt revitalized. Renewed. As though using my power made me feel more alive than ever.
I heard Ras release a breath, and it sounded like he had held it for long. "W-what… when did you learn to do that?"
