Capítulo 10: Tickets

The clock shows eleven o'clock at night, and a silver laptop with a half-bitten apple symbol still emits a bright light, indicating that the work is still not finished.

His eyes were already very sleepy, considering that he had a lot of work to do in the office today, and he added to Alex's request for a meeting to be done immediately.

"Unlucky! Only because of his jealousy can he arbitrarily tell me to work on the results of a meeting that should be done in 2 days!" murmured Abel annoyed, while his hand fiddled with a pen.

Abel cursed his boss in front of the laptop screen with unfinished work, until finally...

"Shit! It's 7 in the morning!"

He fell asleep because of the drowsiness he could no longer contain. Abel immediately rushed to his boss's apartment without taking a shower and only wearing makeshift clothes.

* * *

Abel's tiny hand rang the bell in front of Alex's apartment unit door with a heart filled with fear; Alex would be scolded for not finishing yesterday's meeting results.

No need to wait long; the door opened, and a man with a muscular body opened the door. The welcome was warm but enigmatic.

"Please come in," Alex said in a deep voice.

A sound came out of Alex's mouth; it seemed like he had a lot of words he wanted to say to Abel.

"Would you like coffee or tea?" he offered briefly.

Abel, still spinning in his mind, was suddenly shocked to hear the offer; he immediately answered plainly while glancing at his boss, who was still wearing his pajamas.

"Coffee."

"As I said yesterday regarding the meeting with investors. How is it progressing? And the results I asked for today, "said Alex firmly.

"I beg your pardon, sir. I haven't finished the results of yesterday's meeting with investors because…." Abel didn't have time to finish his words. "Because of what?" said Alex firmly, making Abel shrink in front of him.

"Sleep, sir," Abel stammered.

A quiet atmosphere with the aroma of coffee burst into one in Abel's fear, and beads of sweat began to appear even though the air conditioner in this room was very cold. Abel had thought he would be scolded by a thousand slurs that came out of Alex's mouth, but his guess was wrong.

Abel was stunned when he saw the object in Alex's right hand, the two plane tickets he showed to Abel.

"Next week I have a visit to Dubai. You come with me," said Alex as if forgetting his annoyance at Abel.

Alex already had high hopes for Abel to agree to his invitation and accompany him to work in Dubai for two weeks. The image of intimacy with Abel was clear in front of his eyes, enjoying the view of the city of Dubai from the top of the Burj Khalifa and, of course, enjoying the food served there.

Abel nodded slowly, his hair swaying as he shook his head. An opportunity that he would never feel to be alone in a few days with Alex, and also, this was the demands of his work he would not be able to refuse.

While sipping coffee, Alex gave Abel a faint smile. He is pleased because, in two weeks, Abel will not meet Airlangga and will focus on himself.

"Thank you," said Airlangga to the woman wearing her clothes again on the king-size bed in Airlangga's apartment.

When Airlangga was about to go to the bathroom, a telephone ringing could be heard from his cell phone, and the name of his secretary was visible on the phone screen.

"What's up calling like this in the middle of the night?"

"WHAT?! This cannot be tolerated!"

Her feet quickly stepped into the bathroom to clean up and get ready to come to Alex. With anger, he poured water from the shower. "Unlucky! How could he help start first!"

* * *

Abel looked at the ticket Alex had given him this afternoon; he still couldn't believe he was going to Dubai with Alex, someone from the past who now really admires him.

Dubai is indeed one of the cities that Abel wants to visit, a city that has the jargon "The Happiest City on the Earth" and offers beauty and luxury that anyone there will bring impression.

That smile didn't seem to want to leave Abel's lips; his mind kept wandering, imagining how nice it would be to be side by side with Alex for a long time.

"But, wait a minute, why did Alex ask me to go overseas so quickly when I've only been here a few months?" thought Abel while scratching his head.

In front of the laptop, Abel kept thinking of many possible reasons that made Alex ask him to go abroad other than himself, who was his secretary.

* * *

Black heels tapped on the marble floor in the corridor of the CEO's room while carrying a tablet that was ready with the meeting files. There was no answer from the first knock on the door until finally, Abel decided to open the door for fear that his boss would not hear the knock.

"Oh, Lord! What happened to father?" A trembling voice filled with worry escaped Abel's mouth. His hands were trying to wake Alex, who was lying limp on the floor; his lips were stained with blood that wouldn't stop.

No need to wait long, Abel immediately stepped into the first aid kit that was provided in this room. His hand gently bandaged the wound on the edge of Alex's mouth, the bruises on his eyelids he compressed with cold water.

Abel didn't want to ask about the cause of his boss's injuries because he saw Alex's condition, who was still moaning.

"Please don't let this incident spread in the office," Alex said softly as he held the wound on his face.

Abel nodded slowly, his mind full of worries and questions that he couldn't answer alone.

"Is this Airlangga's doing?" he thought, but he quickly pushed the thought away.

"I said goodbye to go back to the room, sir," said Abel with his hands full of cotton and alcohol.

"Can I ask you to stay here, accompany me until office hours are over?" asked Alex with eyes sparkling with hope.

The secretary smiled sweetly, nodding her head again.

"That damn human always annoys me!" mumbled Alex.

Abel shuddered, in his heart, wondering why Alex was acting like this and who was his fighting opponent in the room.

In the silence filled with questions, there was the sound of the door opening loudly from outside, seen the figure of a man with a black coat attached to his body; his face was bruised just like Alex's.

"Is this Alex's fighting opponent?" muttered Abel in his heart.

"You bastard! You always snatch what I want!" shouted the man at the door.
