Capítulo 27: Chapter-27 Chunin Exam
Team-7 was back in konoha, they continued their D-rank mission. Sasuke continued his usual training, Naruto and Sakura also joined Sasuke from time to time. Sakura wanted to spend time with Sasuke but she came to an understanding that Sasuke won't even talk to her other than their time in training, she was training very hard so that she can spend time with Sasuke. Her taijutsu skills were improving slowly, but her medical and genjutsu skills were progressing very fast. Sasuke has a feeling that Sakura will surpass him in medical ninjutsu in 2-3 years. He told her to find Kurenai and ask her guidance for genjutsu training.
One month passed quickly and it was time for chunin exam. Kakashi did not try to test the team, he simply gave them the form of chunin exam. Iruka was not convinced with rookie-9 participate in the chunin exam, to which Kakashi replied that, no chunin in the village can defeat Naruto and even he was not sure if he can defeat Sasuke. Everyone present in the room, excluding Guy and third Hokage was shocked. Kakashi was one of the strongest elite Jonin of village, only people above his strength were Hokage and Sanin. Now Kakashi was claiming that a rookie genin was stronger than him, it was very shocking for them.
Team-7 went to the building where first phase of chunin exam was supposed to be held. When they reached second floor, they saw many participants were present there, thinking it was third floor. Sasuke easily saw through the genjutsu but he did not say anything. He saw 'team Guy' was also present there acting like they are a weak genin team. They were hiding their strength, Sasuke went to Rock Lee and asked him;
SASUKE: "What are you doing here?"
Rock Lee whispered in his ear;
ROCK LEE: "we are hiding our strength from other participants, that is why we are acting like we are weak."
SASUKE: "You can see through genjutsu, right?"
ROCK LEE: "What genjutsu?"
BAM...…
Sasuke punched Rock Lee on the face and moved to third floor, Naruto and Sakura simply followed him. Rock Lee was sent flying, he crashed to the wall five meter behind him, but get up immediately. He realized that Sasuke punched him because he could not see through a simple genjutsu. He was so focused on acting weak that he fall prey to such simple genjutsu. Rock Lee spar with Sasuke at regular basis so he have good understanding of how to break genjutsu. Other participant also realized that they were not on third floor, what surprise them most was how easily Rock Lee stood up after that punch, if they were the one receiving that punch then they could not have remain conscious.
Team-7 entered the examination room, they met other members of rookie-9. Kabuto was also present there, things pretty much occur like cannon. Sasuke just stood silently in a corner and waited for exam to start. He told Naruto that first part is written exam and if he was not able to answer the question, then just look at him. Ibiki Morino arrived, he explained the rules of exam and every one started writing. Nauto did not know any of the answers so he looked at Sasuke and Sasuke put him in genjutsu where he saw a large paper in front of him with all the answers.
Ibiki understood what was happening and he was surprised that genjutsu can be used in such a way. He was very impressed with Sasuke. After 45 minute passed, it was time for 10th question. Ibiki threatened the candidates that they will never become chunin if they got 10th question wrong, followed by Naruto speech and finally 72 students passed the first phase of chunin exam.
After that Anko made her entry and inform every one about the location of second phase of chunin exam. Sasuke knew he would face orochimaru in the forest of death and he was prepared for it. There was no way he is going to let that snake put a curse mark on him. Sasuke also saw Karin in the group of candidates who passed first phase of chunin exam, he was planning to take Karin under his wing. He put a tracking seal on Karin secretly. Everyone gathered near the forest of death, Anko explained the rule for second phase of exam. Everyone got their scroll, team-7 have heaven scroll and they needed earth scroll to pass the exam. Everyone entered the forest of death through different gates. Sasuke send one of his shadow clone to track down Karin. He knew Orochimaru must be following his team so he stayed with his team. Running away from Orochimaru was easy for Sasuke, if he uses his mangekyou then he was sure he can get upper hand in his fight with Orochimaru, but it was not the time for revealing mangekyou and he needed to protect his team.
Sasuke's clone followed Karin with help of tracking seal, Karin was treated very poorly by her teammates. They kept biting her arm even to heal even small scratches, this made Sasuke furious, he decided it was time for those two to die. Karin was left alone by her teammate when they decided to look for other team to steal their scroll. Sasuke's clone took this opportunity and ambushed those two. They did not even realize when Sasuke's clone appeared behind them, he stabbed one of them with kunai in the back, and before the second one can react to what happened, another kunai was embedded in his throat. It took Sasuke less than 10 second to kill both of them. Sasuke checked their scroll and fortunately found earth scroll. He was happy that objective of second exam was almost complete, his team just needed to reach the tower to pass second phase of chunin exam. Next he decided to go talk to Karin and convince her into following him.
