Chapter 5: Is the Will of Fire the Strongest Jutsu in the Shinobi World?
---
Just as Pain once said:
"Those who do not understand pain will never truly understand others. And even if they do understand, they will never truly empathize. Such is the unchanging truth of the world."
Only those who have felt pain can truly experience its essence and understand its weight.
The upper echelons of Konoha, those who treat lives with disdain and think nothing of killing, behave as they do simply because they have never truly experienced pain.
But what if it were their loved ones who suffered and died?
Ultimately, the Uchiha clan's downfall can be attributed to their weakness.
To put it mildly, they were too kind. To be blunt, they were too soft.
"Kindness invites abuse, and humility invites exploitation."
Had the Uchiha clan publicly declared their intent to retaliate or uttered words to make the higher-ups fearful, they wouldn't have faced such an ending.
As he watched the members of the Uchiha clan fall one by one, their bodies turning cold, Uchiha Yi felt a burning rage deep within his soul, a flame of fury that refused to be extinguished.
"Is this the original owner's lingering will?"
"Watching his clan be slaughtered by traitors and oppressors... He must have been filled with rage and despair."
"Don't worry. Once I am strong enough, every single one of tonight's perpetrators will pay the price."
As these words left Uchiha Yi's lips, the searing rage subsided slightly.
At the same time, he noticed a subtle change in his vision. The world around him became sharper, and his ability to perceive details improved dramatically.
"Is this the power of the Sharingan?"
Checking a mirror, Uchiha Yi was pleasantly surprised to see his eyes had awakened into a two-tomoe Sharingan!
Although thrilled by this development, he couldn't help but feel a tinge of sorrow for the circumstances leading to it.
"This is the burden I've inherited. I will carry it forward."
As the massacre of the Uchiha clan escalated, the overwhelming stench of blood spread throughout their compound, making it impossible for the killings to remain a secret any longer.
The surviving Uchiha members, enraged and despairing, resolved to fight back.
"For the honor of the Uchiha! Kill these traitorous scum!"
Knowing that Konoha wouldn't let them escape, they decided to take as many enemies down with them as they could. If they were going to die, they would make sure to leave a mark.
Their desperate counterattacks made them fight with unparalleled ferocity, pushing their abilities beyond their usual limits.
The battlefield was soon ablaze, and flames of defiance illuminated every corner of the Uchiha district.
Using his Fire Travel Technique, Uchiha Yi discreetly navigated through the chaos, collecting soul points from the fallen.
By the time the dust settled, he had amassed 1,045 soul points—a cold, hard number that reflected the unimaginable atrocities committed that night.
"Draw a reward!"
"Ding! Congratulations, you've obtained the Zanpakutō: Ryūjin Jakka!"
"Note: The host's current state cannot support its Shikai abilities."
"Draw again!"
"Ding! Congratulations, you've obtained the Will of Fire!"
"The Will of Fire?"
"Is that even considered a fire-style ability?"
While the first reward, Ryūjin Jakka, was undoubtedly powerful, Uchiha Yi knew his current abilities couldn't harness its true strength. He could only look forward to the day he could fully wield its power.
But the second reward... The Will of Fire?
"Does this system count anything with the word 'fire' as a fire-style jutsu?"
Uchiha Yi felt as though his understanding of the world was being shattered.
It became clear that the system could not only grant him actual fire-based abilities but also conceptual or symbolic powers, as long as they were somehow related to "fire."
Curious about what the Will of Fire actually entailed, he opened its details:
Will of Fire (Passive):
"Congratulations, you've unlocked the most powerful jutsu in the Naruto world: the Art of Persuasion (Mouth Jutsu)."
"This jutsu, passed down through Konoha's history, represents the ultimate art of diplomacy.
"As the bearer of the Will of Fire, your words carry immense persuasive power when infused with its ideals."
"The ultimate art of persuasion?"
Thinking back to the events of the Naruto storyline, Uchiha Yi realized how many powerful figures had fallen victim to this technique:
Obito Uchiha, swayed at the brink of destruction.
Nagato, turning against his own convictions.
Itachi Uchiha, sacrificing everything for Konoha.
Even Zabuza Momochi shed tears under its influence.
From the greats like Jiraiya and Minato to lesser-known figures, countless individuals were either swayed or outright defeated by this so-called jutsu.
Even the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, often mocked as a "weak old man," had an impressive track record of pacifying dangerous enemies without lifting a finger, all thanks to this ultimate technique.
"Alright, I admit it. The Will of Fire is the strongest jutsu in the shinobi world. I won't argue against it anymore."
Initially, Uchiha Yi wanted to mock the system's description of this power, but recalling Konoha's endless manipulations and propaganda, he had no choice but to acknowledge its terrifying effectiveness.
"Unfortunately, I'm not much of a talker."
"I prefer action over words."
For now, he decided the Will of Fire was better than nothing.
"Draw another reward!"
"Ding! Congratulations, you've obtained Amaterasu!"
"Amaterasu? Not bad!"
As one of Itachi's Mangekyō Sharingan abilities, Amaterasu was a powerful technique that created inextinguishable black flames. But through the system, Uchiha Yi could now use it without requiring the Mangekyō Sharingan—only a sufficient amount of chakra.
"One more draw!"
"Ding! Congratulations, you've obtained Void Devouring Flame!"
"Void Devouring Flame? Is this from Battle Through the Heavens?"
Unable to contain his excitement, Uchiha Yi quickly checked its details:
Void Devouring Flame:
"Ranked second on the Battle Through the Heavens Heavenly Flame List.
"Born from the void, this flame has no form or shape, possessing an extraordinary ability to devour everything. It can even consume bloodlines and grant new powers to its wielder."
"This... This is amazing!"
With this ability, Uchiha Yi saw the potential to enhance his own bloodline by consuming the genetic traits of others, thereby compensating for any shortcomings. It was exactly what he needed at this critical juncture.
Having used up four draws, he still had 1,004 soul points remaining. While it seemed like a lot, Uchiha Yi knew he needed to save them for future uses.
For now, his next goal was clear: to use the Void Devouring Flame to absorb the bloodline of Fugaku Uchiha, the head of the clan. If successful, his own Uchiha bloodline would ascend to a higher level, potentially awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan.
"No time to waste!"
With a determined mindset, Uchiha Yi activated his Fire Travel Technique and stealthily made his way to the Uchiha Clan Leader's location.

Chapter 6: "My Foolish Little Brother! Live On in Hatred and Ugliness!"
----
"No! Please stop!"
"Why, Itachi?! Why are you doing this?"
"Traitor!"
No matter how much the Uchiha clansmen didn't want to believe it, the brutal truth unfolded before their eyes.
The once-proud Uchiha Itachi had turned his blade against them. Wherever he passed, be it skilled Uchiha shinobi or ordinary clan members without ninja talent, his sword showed no mercy.
Blood soaked the clan grounds, transforming them into a hellish nightmare.
Amid this chaos, a young Uchiha child stumbled into the scene.
Seeing the lifeless bodies of familiar faces he had known his whole life, his heart sank.
The child sprinted toward home, fear and confusion clouding his mind. Surprisingly, the Root and ANBU operatives stationed nearby didn't intercept him; they merely watched in silence.
At the Uchiha compound's main residence, the clan head Fugaku Uchiha and his wife, Mikoto Uchiha, knelt silently on tatami mats.
Moonlight shone upon their motionless figures, casting a melancholic glow.
The couple's faces remained unnervingly calm, as though oblivious to the massacre occurring just beyond their walls.
Footsteps echoed.
Itachi Uchiha entered the room, his blade dripping with fresh blood.
Standing behind his parents, he fell silent.
"Itachi," Fugaku said without turning around.
"If this is the path you've chosen, then carry it out without hesitation."
"Do not fear. This is the road you decided to walk."
"For us, the pain will last only a moment."
"Even if our ideals differ, we are still proud of you."
"And don't forget... you are also an Uchiha."
With a heavy heart, Fugaku sighed silently. He couldn't help but regret his past decisions.
Perhaps he should never have sent Itachi to interact with Konoha's upper echelons, trying to mend relations between the Uchiha and the village.
That path was doomed from the start.
"Itachi," Mikoto chimed in, her tone warm and gentle.
"This is the fate of the Uchiha clan. I won't blame you."
"I have no desire to fight my own son."
"Just promise me one thing: take care of Sasuke."
She smiled softly, her voice filled with maternal warmth, unwilling to place any additional burden on her eldest son.
For Mikoto, the massacre was an inevitability. If not by Itachi's hand, it would have been someone else.
Their destiny was sealed.
Hearing his father's stern command and his mother's loving reassurance, Itachi's expression finally shifted.
Tears welled in his Sharingan-filled eyes.
Even so, the road he had chosen allowed no turning back.
The darkness and suffering ahead were his burden alone to bear.
If sacrificing his family meant protecting Konoha's peace, so be it.
For the Uchiha, only Sasuke needed to live.
With that resolve, Itachi gripped his blade and struck.
"Shk!"
In an instant, both Fugaku and Mikoto fell lifeless to the floor.
Standing motionless for a moment, Itachi silently mourned the loss of his parents.
Soon after, young Sasuke Uchiha burst through the door, trembling in shock.
"Father! Mother!"
Sasuke froze in disbelief, his eyes darting between the lifeless bodies of his parents and the blade-wielding figure standing before him.
In the dim moonlight, the face he saw was all too familiar: his older brother, Itachi.
"Itachi! Why... why did you do this?!"
Tears streamed down Sasuke's face as his voice trembled with anger and confusion.
"My foolish little brother…" Itachi murmured.
He activated his Mangekyō Sharingan, pulling Sasuke into a nightmarish Tsukuyomi illusion.
In the crimson-tinted world of the Tsukuyomi, Sasuke witnessed the massacre replayed countless times.
He watched helplessly as one clansman after another fell by Itachi's hand. Blood pooled around him, consuming the floor.
"Stop! Please, brother, stop!" Sasuke screamed in terror, clutching his head.
"Why?! Why are you doing this?!"
"No… I don't want to see this anymore! Please, don't hurt them!"
"Father… Mother…!"
Only a second passed in the real world, but in the illusion, Sasuke endured agonizing hours.
The psychological torment left him gasping for breath as he collapsed onto the ground. His trembling body faced his parents' corpses.
His tear-filled eyes glared at the looming figure of his brother, now an object of undying hatred.
"Why did you do this?!" Sasuke managed to whisper.
"To test my capabilities," Itachi replied coldly.
"You slaughtered everyone... for something so trivial?!" Sasuke's voice cracked with rage.
"To me, it was necessary."
"If you wish to kill me, despise me. Hate me."
"Cling to your pitiful life and survive in disgrace."
"Then, when you have my eyes, come find me and end my life."
These words burned into Sasuke's soul as he fell unconscious, overwhelmed by despair and hatred.
Looking at his brother's crumpled form, Itachi felt a twinge of disappointment.
He had orchestrated everything to push Sasuke to his limits. Yet, despite all the pain inflicted, Sasuke had only shown signs of awakening his Sharingan, not advancing further.
(For the curious: I've scoured various sources and rewatched key scenes. There's no explicit confirmation that Sasuke unlocked his Sharingan at this exact moment. Feel free to investigate yourselves!)
With one last glance at his unconscious brother, Itachi turned back to his parents' lifeless bodies.
He had to handle their remains personally. Though he trusted the Third Hokage to protect Sasuke, he harbored deep suspicions toward Danzo Shimura.
After all, his dear friend and mentor, Shisui Uchiha, had fallen victim to Danzo's schemes. Shisui's other Mangekyō Sharingan had also ended up in Danzo's possession.
After ensuring his parents' remains were properly dealt with, Itachi would confront Danzo to warn him against targeting Sasuke.
Glancing once more at Sasuke, Itachi silently vowed to protect him from the shadows, no matter the cost.
