Capítulo 23: Chapter 22
With the arrival of All Might there was an atmosphere of relief permeating in the surrounding. We all backed off from the Nomu.
I look at the entrance and see All Might who was not smiling with an injured Thirteen who was supported by Sero and Sato.
'What, how was she injured?' I question myself as I see no traces of Kurogiri. I expand my senses to detect him.
That's when I see Shigaraki falling in a portal that was definitely Kurogiri. And before they escaped, Shigaraki who seemed to have been awakened had a crazed look on his face as he shouted,"NOMU! Unleash yourself!!".
With that declaration both of them escaped from there as I look towards the Nomu. The Nomu had whites in its eyes as it roared and went berserk. It moved so harshly that it decapitated it's own arms which regrew in a few seconds.
I jump out of the way where the massive hand just created a crater. 'This never happened in canon' I think as the butterfly effect seemed to be in play this early with my intervention with a major event.
It swatted Bakugo who was about to get squashed by the attack. I create a protective membrane around him long enough to get him out of the precarious situation.
We all stand together looking at the monstrosity who looked like it had already lost whatever brain he had with himself. The beast moved at such a speed that it was just a blur.
By pumping Chi in my system I was able to just barely track it's movements but it wouldn't be enough. Just as we think that we are doomed, the creature attacks.
All of the others just close their eyes in the face of peril, but I stared on ahead. All Might had came to our rescue. He blocked it's attack that was strong enough to generate high wind pressure.
"You all back off! I will deal with this villain", All Might said to us as we all backed off to a corner as their battle was explosive to say the least.
I knew that this guy wasn't in his prime and had pushed himself too much before coming here but to see him dishing out punches that would level buildings with ease is a sight to witness.
While they were fighting I was thinking about the berserk state the Nomu was in currently. In canon there was no indication of such a thing. Maybe it was never there or never used.
I think when Shigaraki yelled out that phrase it activated a sort of mental trigger inside the Nomu which is the reason for it's behavior. The fight was going much better in the favor of All Might due to Aizawa neutralizing the annoying quirk that the Nomu had.
But still I could see that All Might was struggling a bit. As Aizawa couldn't activate his quirk for long durations, there were times that the Nomu got a few punches in.
Izuku was looking distraught and in worry mostly due to the fact that he knew that All Might had extended his time limit and going past it.
I wanted to do more to this battle. Sure I got what I wanted but still I could achieve more and help All Might."Sensei, when you are ready to activate your quirk tell me I will hold the monster with my telekinesis" I tell Aizawa.
Aizawa who was resting his eyes due to the strain of his quirk stared at me and nodded. All Might was doing well but due to Aizawa's lack of interference his attacks were just getting absorbed and doing nothing.
Aizawa after resting enough signalled me and I got ready. We were at a distance from their battle as we didn't want to become collateral damage in their fight. But the distance wouldn't come in the way of the execution.
Both the Nomu and All Might were stuck in a slug fest with each other just going at each other. All Might faltered a bit which lead to the crazed Nomu to have a chance to wound him.
I concentrated and bound the creature with my telekinetic energy as Aizawa nullified it's quirk."ALL MIGHT! I can only hold for not more than 5 seconds" I say as I feel the Nomu struggling against my hold trying to break free.
All Might understood what he had to do as he kicked the Nomu in air as he readied his fist when he shouted,"PLUS ULTRA!!!" as his fist made contact with the beast's gut it seemed like a bomb had gone off from where the attack was made as the Nomu shot towards the sky breaking the ceiling and still going upwards like Team Rocket.
Everyone was gobsmacked by this power me included. It was one thing to sit behind a screen and watch and to actually be here and witness the sheer power this guy possesses. This really puts into perspective of how vast this world is.
I would not lie and say I wasn't getting arrogant due to completely leaving everyone behind in terms of power but seeing this humbled me to the ground. This proved to me that these are the heights that I have to surpass and I have a lot of work cut out for me.
He was standing there like a mountain unfazed by anything as there was some wear and tear visible on him.It seemed like he had gone past his limit but the case wasn't as bad as it was in canon due to Aizawa's quirk nullification.
At this point in time we heard the entrance of the facility being broken down. As we look towards the entrance it seemed like the reinforcements had arrived not like they had much to do other than detaining all the criminals that were here.
I was on the ground panting as just holding the Nomu required me to give it my all as it was way too strong. Aizawa looked at my state and said,"You were pretty reckless out there not following orders but you did good kid" he finished the lecture with a small compliment to which I just nodded my head to.
The rest of the teachers that had came here quickly captured the criminals and everyone was safe. Except for Thirteen who still got attacked. She and All Might were quickly rushed to Recovery Girl for treatment.
The police force was here to take the criminals to detain them. We weren't questioned considering the ordeal we just went through. We were led to school this time with a number of Pro Heroes with us for additional safety.
It turned out that before the reinforcements had came Kurogiri used the same tactic he used in canon to escape. I was feeling a little guilty as it was me who had told her to look after the villain.
"It's not your fault Kei-Chan" Izuku says to me. I look at him with a tired demeanor as he continues."I know you blame yourself for what happened to Thirteen but you couldn't have done anything".
"Yeah dude, you did plenty good. You went up against the villain and even helped All Might which was so manly!" Kirishima added. Hearing that I chuckled as it seemed like nothing horrendous had happened just now looking at these guys.
Sure I made sure to mitigate the damages on our side as much as I could but it is what it is. We learn from our experiences.
I can't afford to slack off as the League Of Villains would come back with even more force. I have to be even more powerful to deal with them. I will be ready for them the next time they show themselves.
