Capítulo 69: You aren't daydreaming

Waking down on a bustling city street, Evelyn cradled her groceries carefully in her arms. Her usual attire of a tightly fitted maid's uniform was replaced by something significantly more casual.

She wore a loose, breathable linen blouse, its color a soft pastel blue that contrasted with her brunette hair, usually tied back neatly, now danced freely around her face, the loose strands tickled by the gentle breeze.

Paired with the blouse were high-waisted jeans, hugging her frame just right and allowing freedom of movement. The ensemble was finished off with comfortable sneakers that had seen better days. The soles were worn, and there was a small tear on the side, but they were Evelyn's favorite–they had been her constant companions through thick and thin, most importantly the only gift and link she could recall about her mother.
