The arrival of the teachers and even the principal was well timed, if a little late. Especially of note were those other initial shots, which shot by a teacher by the name of Snipe, resolved a situation with Yaoyorozu, Jiro, and Kaminari. Without that support, things could have gone badly there.
There had been an extra villain hiding underground in that area, but Snipe's shots and Quirk guidance thereof were able to take him out before he could harm Kaminari, who was still handicapped by his overload before.
The teachers directed the students out so that they could be checked on, as well as so that they didn't get too close to All Might, who shrank into an almost skeletal man. Only Kai and Deku were able to see that.
With the crisis resolved, Kai dismissed the units he had around USJ. In their place, he summoned a couple of changelings, which took his shape. Two of them picked up Kai and slung him over their shoulders. A third was to convey Kai's words by displaying them.
He had considered getting Arachne to make it so that the changelings could make sounds other than unholy screaming, but in the end, he had decided to leave it to make sure that there was a way to know if something was a changeling or not.
It was better they learn to tell the difference between the real and fake.
Or at least, Kai's fakes and other fakes.
Once outside, everyone met with a pair of policemen. Kai only got some brief strange glances.
"Pretty much everyone is unharmed, except for that guy," one of the policemen remarked.
"Don't worry about me, just a drug overdose," Kai put out for him to read.
"…"
"It's a joke. Just the cost of pushing my Quirk's limit a little. I'll be fine with some rest."
Everyone shared their notes about how things went in their areas. Except for Aoyama, who acted secretive about it after pestering everyone to ask. Kai suspected that he had been dropped into the trees between disaster zones and hid for the whole time.
"For the time being," the policeman continued, ignoring Kai's joke, "you all need to head back to the classroom. We can't just go straight to questioning, after all."
"How is Aizawa sensei?" Asui asked him cautiously.
"His arms are riddled with comminuted fractures, and he's suffering from facial fractures as well. Thankfully, out of sheer luck, he didn't suffer any brain damage. It's just… well, the bones around his eye socket have been crushed into a powder. There's a chance it might adversely affect his eyesight.
"Or, so I've been told," he concluded waving his phone in the air.
Kai was a little disappointed. Aizawa was a good man. He deserved better than to retire by being crippled. Just as well that his wounds weren't worse. Perhaps it could have been avoided if Kai took things seriously, or just took matters into his own hands from the beginning. He was just lucky that his judgement on the goons that attacked the kids was accurate.
"As for No. 13…" the policeman continued, but Kai didn't listen too closely. Nobody was in critical condition, and that was what mattered.
What Kai wanted to know about was Noumu. The homunculus. Or maybe it was more of a Frankenstein's monster type of situation. Whatever the case, the world wasn't big enough for three psychotic bioweapon creating nutjobs.
The first being the one who made Kai, and the second being Kai himself.
Then a team of policemen walked past with Noumu in tow. They had bound him with all that they had on them, from bands that were designed for the super strong to two of their own belts. However, Noumu was peacefully complying, just barely keeping pace with them as they walked him to an awaiting transport.
One of the group broke off to report to the policeman that had been talking with the class.
"He's not showing any sign of resistance at all! Moreover, he's not responding to any external stimulus. It's like he's braindead."
Intriguing. Whatever the process used to create him, it wasn't very stable.
If Noumu no longer had a mind, then there was little use the police would have in holding him. Perhaps…
Kai's thoughts trailed off as he finally fell unconscious.

Meanwhile, at a bar in Musutafu…
Shigaraki Tomura lay on the floor in pain. Snipe had hit both of his hands before Kurogiri had gated them away. This was compounded by the psychological pain of defeat.
"You were wrong, sensei! Even the kids were strong, and the Symbol of Peace was none the worse for wear! We were completely defeated," he lamented to a computer.
"No, I wasn't wrong," a voice replied. "I was simply overoptimistic. But you know, it seems they underestimated us. Thankfully, the name of the 'League of Villains' is cheap. Incidentally, what became of Noumu?"
"I'm afraid that he was sent flying," Kurogiri answered. "We didn't have enough time to find him, no matter how many times I warped."
"Even though I went through the trouble of bringing his strength up to All Might's level. Oh well, it can't be helped now. Still, it's a shame," the voice said, disappointed.
"Though… speaking of All Might's level, there was one kid that punched like All Might," Shigaraki said. "Still, he wasn't the biggest problem. One of the kids summoned monsters! If it wasn't for them…"
"Monsters, you say? Impossible!" The voice on the other side of the computer couldn't believe his ears. "There's only one family known for summoning monsters, and there is no way that- wait. Perhaps that rumor…. I will speak with the good doctor. We shall have to tread carefully. Let's gather a new group, and hand-pick them for efficiency. And let's take all the time we need.
"Remember, we can't move freely! That's why a symbol like you is necessary! Next time, Shigaraki Tomura, you must show the world the horror of your existence!"
Well, sorry for the long wait. Writer's block, and my brother and nephew just got out of quarantine. So now, there's a two-year-old running around. He is good fun, but not helpful for writing. Plus all the unrelated cleanups...
Anyways, getting close to season 2. Just a couple of things to do first.
Sadly, since I've uploaded to what I've got written, I can't quite say when I'll upload with certainty, but I will try to at least manage once a week.
