Capítulo 31: Bad dream
Lin Ye called out once again, "What are you still doing here?"
The person she was speaking to was Chen Xi but it seemed as if he was asleep because Lin Ye was not getting any answers.
She walked up and closed the doors slowly. Chen Xi was sitting on the chair with his eyes closed.
Lin Ye stared at him, the way his chest rose and fell in rhythm with his breathing, the way he looked peaceful just laying there.
When she had first seen him, she felt as if he looked familiar but she had never really met him before.
Chen Xi was very handsome and quite charismatic when he wanted to be. Lin Ye found herself moving closer and closer to him until she was standing right in front of Chen Xi's legs. She stared at his face for quite a long time.
Her face moved closer and closer until their faces were inches apart.
She somehow didn't want to leave where she was. He gave her a feeling of completeness that she did not know she needed, it was like looking for something for a long time and then you finally found it but he was confusing her.
She did not want anything to change right now. She liked the constant yet her face inched even closer to him.
Chen Xi must have been tired because even after a while, he still did not wake up. His brows were scrunched together and all of a sudden, his body convulsed!
Lin Ye moved away immediately!
Chen Xi looked like he was having a bad dream. In a short amount of time, he was sweating profusely and his brows tightened.
Lin Ye felt afraid. She pushed him with all her might but Chen Xi still refused to wake up.
She suddenly did not know what to do!
Chen Xi's dreams seemed to be so bad that his body convulsed painfully. Lin Ye suddenly felt pain too but she did not know why.
Once in a while, he spoke. Lin Ye listened keenly. She could not figure out whatever he was saying but one word was as clear as day, "Hua"
He had called her that name so many times already. If he loved Hua so much the it did not make sense that he was having a nightmare.
What had happened to him?
Chen Xi came to after a while. Lin Ye was shaking him while calling his name several times.
When he opened his eyes, Lin Ye almost fell down!
They were so red and scary and unfocused.
Lin Ye remembered the feeling Chen Xi had given her when they first met inside the VIP wards. Just like that day, his eyes were scary beyond explanation.
The Chen Xi she was seeing now was not the one she knew, it was like knowing two different people yet it was just the same person!
Lin Ye did not know what was happening but she suddenly felt dizzy and when she realized what was happening, she was already sitting on Chen Xi's laps.
Chen Xi pulled her to his lap and laid his head on her shoulders. His breathing was labored and once he calmed down, he spoke, "Did I scare you?"
His voice was low and shaky, Lin Ye felt hammering in her own chest.
She suddenly did not know how to answer.
Chen Xi tightened his hold on her. She had always been his lifeline, the reason he was alive. He never lived properly after she left. Once he woke up from his coma back then, he had been told that she had not survived the accident but he had never believed them
He did all he could to find her. Many said that he was obsessed but living without her was like living in a world with no color, it was not beautiful at all!
What made the days easier for him was their son who she had not taken when she left but even then he still missed her too much.
His nightmares were the aftermath of the accident. He could not sleep properly without thinking about that fateful accident that had happened to them six years ago.
Luckily, he had found her alive and well.
Once he was fully awake, he let go of her. Lin Ye hurried away!
She coughed and pretended to be unbothered but in reality, her chest was hammering madly inside her chest!
She looked at Chen Xi who was fixing his lapels,
"What were you dreaming about?"
