At first, Seraphina was surprised, then she lowered her eyelids and accepted the kiss. After a light kiss, Linden released her, gazing into her brown eyes while his heart raced. Seraphina glanced down at the stuffed dog in her arms and then back up at him, her expression as beautiful as... as the fairy-tale world she described inside the snow globe.

Linden hugged her, rubbing his cheek against hers. She smiled, a blush tinting her cheeks, and he longed to kiss her again when suddenly a clear child's voice exclaimed, "Daddy, they are kissing!" Startled, Linden straightened up, tucking his tail tight. A family shopping nearby glanced at them disapprovingly—kissing in the children's section was indeed inappropriate.
