"Thank you so much. We will say our goodbyes for now. Since you both seem to be in poor health, I recommend that you remain here for the night." We took the officer's advice.

"Thank you so much, sir." Wei bowed to them, as the officers exited the room and house along with Kai, and the rest of the maids.

My eyes trailed them as they filed out of the room.. I got to my feet and turned around to face Wei, but I was taken aback when Wei rushed to my side and took me in his embrace wrapping his arms around me tightly.

The iron rod slid down to the ground next to where we were standing.

Suddenly, my eyes welled up and tears began flowing down my cheeks as I wrapped my arms around him in the same way he did.
