Of course, Uncle Isaiah was staying for lunch. He was already here for one thing. And the meeting had run right up until it was time for us to go down to eat.

Only, we weren't going down to the dining room for lunch. When Sophia, Uncle Dominic's personal maid, came to collect us for the meal, he instructed them to bring the meal up here so that we could talk while eating our meal.

"Yes, of course Sir Dominic, we will bring it up right away." Sophia didn't bat an eyelash and she didn't try to stop him at all.

I don't think that this change in plans was good for me. I mean, why else would I be getting this feeling that I was sitting in a frying pan over a roaring fire? Was it hot in here right now or was that just me?
