Capítulo 4: Practicing Magic and Training
'Alright, since I'm here in the Garden, lets start out with just actual basics in my opinion.' And so he starts to feel for the magic. Almost like an instinct, he feels it and starts to move it without trying in the least.
'Interesting, so He made it so that is an instinct for me. I knew He did something when he gave me more than what I asked for and done some things without me asking. But....'
"What's the limit of my magic?"
[I can tell you] As a blue screen in front of my face pops out of nowhere.
"Gaah!" As David jumps back in surprise, almost falling down but catching himself at the last moment. "Don't do that, I think I've had my daily dose of heart attack already to last me a lifetime ya know?"
[My apologies, but I thought it the most effective way to get your attention]
"...You just wanted to do that didn't you?"
[Yes, and again it was the most effective way to get your attention]
"...Fine, anyway, my heart has stopped wanting to jump out my chest. So, what has He done to me in regards to magic, since I know He did it with just me trying to feel my magic. And why do I feel like there is no end to it?"
[He has given you the ability to conjure any magic you have seen in your lifetime, and given you the ability to perform them too. The magic you posses is the most pure form of all magic, hence, allowing you to do any magic you have seen. The prerequisite is that you have to at least seen it once in action being performed, or as an affect, like a trap or something else as such. This also applies to magics attached to weapons and conceptual magic]
"So, like imagination magic, I have to see it, and then it's mine?"
[Yes, however, He also implemented a limiter on your magic, so even though you have infinite magic to supply your spells, to make them stronger, you have to remove the "limiters." How you do that is not disclosed to me. He only said that "You'll have to figure that out for yourself, and you can always do the hard way Son. Hard work with you wouldn't be bad for you, it'll let you focus on something."]
"Alright, well, on the positive side I can basically use anything I want, just got to remember that. Well, with what I am allowed to do, what can I do in terms of destructive stuff?"
[You can destroy half of New York at the moment with the most destructive spell allowed to you to use at the moment]
".....Cool"
[On to help you, I have set up these targets for you to practice on. Just because you can do it instinctively, doesn't mean you are used to it yet. You still have the mindset that you have to do things manually]
"Good point, well, lets try Ice, always wanted to do this." And he conjures Ice spears and launches them. They hit the targets as expected and freeze the targets, and they fall to the ground and shatter.
"Nice, now lets try Fire." Same as the first try, he hits the targets and instead turns the targets to ashes.
"Now Earth." And makes spikes that reach the targets from the ground and impales the targets, but not anything else. But also notices that they stay there, even after not supplying anymore magic.
"Huh, interesting. Well, lets try Water now." And instead of a spear, makes it so that the water is a moon crescent shaped and slices through the targets.
"...You may now call me the Avatar System." David says with a gigantic grin on his face.
[If you're the Avatar, call me Iroh]
David couldn't help but laugh at that. Just enjoying the moment.
"Actually, I can see that fitting you. Why don't I call you that. I always wanted an Iroh in my life. Would've helped me out a lot before...this ya know."
[Applying the name "Iroh" to the system database...Confirmed name change]
"Oh, can you do the voice too, I will never get tired of it I can tell ya."
[Confirmed request. Voice changed from 'Text-to-speech' to 'Iroh from Avatar']
"Cool, anyway, let me get back to magic, thanks for that break, needed the laugh." And David gets back to practicing. The spells are getting stronger with every time he uses them. Bigger, faster, stronger, harder and even though the progress is slow, progress is progress in David's mind. Allowing him to just let things flow and him to keep his mind thinking of different ways to use the magic, the combinations and changes comes smoothly to him. Using all the shows, books, and anything else he remembers from his old life to be a reference of what he could do.
"This has been helpful. Anyway, I think I'm done for now. How long have I been doing this?"
[You have been doing this for the last month]
"WHAT!" David shouts, not believing his ears. "How, it's only been a few hours at most."
[You have been a trance since you started, coming up with new ways to progress yourself and what you can do. And from the world, nothing but a few seconds have passed]
David just kinda accepting the situation, moves on. 'I'm gonna have a headache if I try to think to hard' and just goes with the flow of things.
"Alright, since I've been practicing, lets get out into the new world." And David goes to the big screen on the main level. "Hey Iroh, could you show me where Raleigh would be, and his brother Yancy. I always felt that if I could, I'd try to save the big brother. I know how it feels to want to protect the younger brother, so I'd save him."
[Yes, as far as I can detect, they are at xxxxx and you'd have to go there yourself. You haven't practiced any teleport magic yet, so you'll have to travel on foot for you]
"Ah geez, you couldn't send me there?" David complains
[Unfortunately not, God has made it so that wherever you came from you'd also go back to somewhere nearby. You came from xxxxx so all you need to do is just follow xxxxx and you'll make it to their home town]
"Alright then Iroh, thanks for the help. Oh, and before I forget, is their anyway I can contact you while I'm out there?" David asks before he leaves, and not knowing how to return or anything asks as a spur of the moment.
[Yes, I can talk to you no matter where you are as long as I'm not being blocked by another celestial]
"Alright then. Thanks and send me down." David says with a determined look.
And he's gone.
