Capítulo 23: The Spy

Joyce's POV:

I sat in the woods, distracted by the crows, where I could see the ocean churning in the distance like an ugly, insatiable beast wreaking havoc on the beach.

I sat like a snowy mountain before an avalanche, waiting anxiously for an unknown outcome.

It had been a long time. I looked at my watch. It was three o'clock in the morning, two hours late for our scheduled meeting.

He was never late, let alone two hours. I stood up and sighed.

The frustration and pain made me shiver. Damn it! I was so close to the success of the plan. I was one step away from the plan's success, and now it was just foam!

The waves make a damn noise, and they never cease to torment my delicate nerves.

My mind seemed to be suddenly pulled back to the past, that disaster-like night, but also accompanied by the never-ending sound of the waves.
