There was nothing melodious or feminine about the way both women laughed at the bar table. Cora was unaware that the night at the bar would take such a turn in the opposite direction.

"What about your contract? Has it been signed?." Cora asked, lowering her voice. The time had struck one am and everyone had either headed home, or was passed out drunk on the floor.

"Well, I've told him my terms and he wasn't too pleased with them. But I think he's going to sign it." Karla voiced out, serving the last drink to a man who couldn't remember his address.

"I am grateful to the owner of the bar, he agreed to give me this job last minute." Karla added, tiredness washed all over her face.

"Thank you for what you did earlier today, not a lot of people would jump in head first to save me." The image of Dritan popped into her head while she said that sentence, but she disregarded it immediately.
