Capítulo 75: Tearing through

"<Light, come forth!>" Cael and Ginevra spoke in unison, and two balls of light rose over their heads.

Cael turned towards his companion and beamed. She grinned back.

Behind them, specters' footsteps thudded over the stones. Ahead of them, a dusty hallway, full of stale air, lead gods knew where.

They closed the door behind them and ran forward.

The hallway went straight ahead and was wide enough for four people to walk side by side. Its other end disappeared in the darkness. But long before they reached it, Cael and Ginevra had to pause—the hallway sprouted narrower branches to left and right.

Cael and Ginevra exchanged glances. The question "Which way?" and the responding "Wish I knew!" didn't have to be spoken out loud.

Cael focused on the mana in the walls. The webs of the protective array were subtle, and hard to discern from the natural background of the area, but they were his only clue about where the control artifact could be.
