Ankit got up from his table saying " Mom! The fish is too spicy to eat. I am already late for the office. It will take much time consuming such a spicy fish. I do not want to eat it." He took up his office bag and went out of the house, slamming the door. His mother Pravati sat down on the chair in the dining room, shocked by her son's behaviour. Ankit's father did the same when he was alive. A small mistake of Pravati was equal to sin for Ankit's father, Arvind. He always used to accuse Pravati of every small thing. But Pravati tolerated all this and used to remain quiet. But the problems started after Arvind's death due to a car accident. Ankit was then only seven years old. Pravati got a job at his brother's office to sustain herself and her son. Ankit was good at studies and got a nice job. But these days, due to some problems at work, Ankit is ill-tempered and always gets angry over small reasons. Ankit loves to eat fish made especially by Pravati. But today, Ankit did not have his breakfast and went off to the office. Pravati was lost in the past and was thinking, " Is Ankit also going to inherit his father's character? " Tears fell from her eyes. Just as she removed the plate from the table, she saw a small piece of paper on which it was written.
My lovely mom,
" What do you think, I don't know anything? I saw yesterday that you are cooking fish curry in which three fishes were being cooked. You gave two of them to me yesterday and the last fish today. But I wanted you to have the last fish. After all, those are made by you only. And of course, the fish curry was lovely. Next Sunday, we will be going on a trip. So start your preparations. Only two days left! I will return at 7 pm."
Tears of happiness fell from Pravati's eyes. She finally realised that Ankit had become quite different from his father. She had succeeded in making Ankit a gentleman.
