"Why are you looking sad?"
Liza asked while her face was beaming with her bright smile. Ji Hoon was forced to take her with him under the excuse that her car was broken.
He didn't believe that, and yet here she was. He couldn't go there alone as she had the letters of invitation to work at that corp. Liza held the two envelopes like her life depended on keeping them with her.
"That's a very big step for both of us. Do you know that I applied to work as a photographer like you? Damn! I'm so excited for our future work together."
"Why not accept a contract of marriage with me? Just sign it and we will be together for life!"
"C'mon, I did all that for you and you are stingy in signing a paper… Tsk!"
"I heard there are a lot of handsome guys out there. Watch out or else I might disappear from your side without knowing it!"
Ji Hoon kept blabbering about that while he drove across the streets to reach the main building of the corp.
The corp had a towering building in the center of the city. It was in the heart of the main streets there, with an outstanding view over everything with the fifty stories tall building they owned.
"Do you need me to guide you there?" Liza took out her phone and didn't notice that since leaving the agency, Ji Hoon never spoke a single word.
"I know the way," Ji Hoon tried to make her shut up but she totally ignored him.
"Take the next turn… oh you want to take the main road. Wait, it's crowded now. There was an accident an hour ago, are you sure we can reach there in time?"
Ji Hoon didn't answer any of her questions even when he took routes she didn't know about. She kept speaking non-stop while he tried to distract himself by thinking about what happened yesterday.
It was still nagging him to lose sight of that girl. He never lost his mark no matter what. So he tried to think back and recall where and how he lost her.
The more he thought about it, the more puzzled he became. He was also feeling odd about what he did once he entered the ladies room.
He shouldn't be bothered with her. Yet something unexplained happened at that moment. A sense of vague danger overwhelmed him, danger approaching that lady.
He recalled every single moment clearly, and all he could say was that he felt worried about her.
Being worried over someone he never saw before made him confused.
"Was there an assassin hidden somewhere there?" he couldn't help but think about that. It was the only excuse he could come up with.
His sharp senses sometimes provided him with strange feelings that he would understand later on.
At one occasion when he was a kid, he had this strange urge to run and never look back. Everything was fine before the bridge he was on exploded in a terrorist attack.
Another time he was on a mission to meet someone, yet he felt this strange sense of danger again. He left the place and kept watching until he realized it was a trap set by police.
Despite not killing anyone or helping to do bad deeds, he knew he was doing things that were illegal in the viewpoint of any policeman or detective.
And so with time he decided to trust his instincts and not doubt his feelings.
Yet here he was facing such a weird situation without any explanation at all.
"We are finally here," the loud scream of the over excited Liza distracted him out of his deep thoughts. He found himself parking the car in front of the heavily secured entrance of the corp.
"C'mon, let's park it inside," Liza pushed his arm with her fists, "we are workers now. Let's park it inside."
"Not today," Ji Hoon' mood wasn't that good at all. He left the car while Liza ran after him.
"Stop," the two were stopped abruptly by a couple of huge physique, black suited guards at the front gate. "Your IDs please and the reason for the visit."
"We are invited to work here, so try to memorize our faces from now on," Liza arrogantly said like she was one of the owners of the corp.
The man seemed not of the type to accept any joke. He glared at her and Ji Hoon could only sigh inwardly.
"If you are workers here then you should know there is another door for people like you," the man coldly said before his friend moved a step forward.
"We have these as an invitation to come here," Ji Hoon grabbed the two envelopes from her hand without Liza realizing his move. He hurriedly gave the envelopes to the guards without saying anything.
The move of his hand was quick yet the werewolf guards dropped their suspicion and examined the two envelopes.
After all, the two in front of them were humans.
"Please step forward for a check," one of the guards coldly said as if this was his normal tone. Ji Hoon wanted to punch that big face. It seemed like a car raced over the guard's face a couple of times already until it flattened.
Yet he stepped calmly while one guard examined his backpack and the other one used a device to scan his body.
After getting vetted, the two were allowed to enter after getting two visitor batches.
"Why are they acting this cold? They might get a heart attack this way!" Liza complained and groaned while Ji Hoon could only smile and say nothing.
It was normal for such a big corp to have such tight security, especially if this all was a fake front to cover up what they did in the shadows.
He walked with excited thoughts towards the giant building. Standing at its foot made him feel tiny, like an ant.
"Wow, this is such a grand building," Liza was shocked by this site, "even my dad's main base isn't so grandiose like this."
"Your dad is like a small fish compared to them," Ji Hoon only said that before entering from the front door of this building, "c'mon, we need to find our way inside the maze inside."
"Maze? Have you ever been here before?"
