Capítulo 8: ********

Eezad's sleep was disturbed by loud knocking on the door. He abruptly got up and saw to his side. Soniya was not there but he knew she was in the washroom as he could hear the water dropping. He searched for his shirt and pants and put it on quickly.

Just as he opened the door, Bibi Jaana rushed and hugged him while crying. He was surprised and asked her what happened.

"Ehtisam.........mera ehtisam.......hmein chour k chala gya."

(My Ehtisam has left us.)

At first he couldn't comprehend but as he understood his eyes widened. He was shook to the core. He couldn't believe his ears. Bibi jaana gasped as she saw a stunned Soniya standing there. Eezad also turned around as he saw her. Eezad could understand her pain and was really sorry for her. Before anyone could comprehend what happened Soniya unconsciously fell onto the floor.

The next days passed in a blur. The funeral was a sad affair where Soniya could not accept the death of his loving father like figure in her life. Eezad was also pain-striken and without a second thought fled to the states to live with his pain still thinking that Soniya was the cause of his misery without even knowing what fate held for him.

6 years later:

On seeing his son, Eezad could'nt comprehend what to do. All the fatherly love came rushing. He hugged Asher for a long time seeing his own self in him.

"You won't leave me and mama now? I really missed you and mama missed you too. She promised that when you will come we will live together happily. She cries for you sometimes but I am your brave son I always make her stop crying."

Eezad's heart swelled on hearing these words. Despite hating Soniya, he was proud of how Soniya brought up their son.

"Nhi mera bacha I will not leave you. I will always be there for you. Baba and asher will everyday go for shopping and I will buy you toys ok?"

(No my child.)

Asher laughed and hugged his father tightly.

Soniya who was watching for a lone corner was happy to see her Asher happy but inside there was still a fear of Eezad in her heart.

"Baba I will sleep will you and mama both."

Soniya, who just came to take Asher to put him to sleep, stood stuck at the door. Eezad was also shocked. He looked towards the door and saw Soniya standing there. Their eyes met for a second and Soniya started looking down.

"Jaan (love) you can sleep with me today. Tomorrow we will sleep together. Ok?"

Eezad said.

"No baba I want to sleep with both of you or else I won't sleep today."

Asher started crying when Eezad urged him.

Eezad quickly gave up to him and put him in his lap.

"Acha theek hai baba ki jaan we will sleep together. Hainaa Soniya?"

(Okay fine baba's love, we will sleep together. Right, Soniya?)

Eezad beckoned towards Soniya and saw her with a smirk. Soniya was dumbstruck on hearing his frank words. Eezad glared at her and gestured her to come. Soniya couldn't resist and came forward.

They laid down with Asher in between and both of them on either sides. Soniya hummed to Asher as Asher fell asleep holding Eezad's hand.

As Asher's breaths got steady, Soniya quickly got off and wanted to go out when Eezad pulled her back. She was now lying on Eezad's side with Eezad's hand on her waist. She started shivering on the sudden contact and as she saw Eezad's eyes she could see the victory in his eyes.

"You think you can keep my own son away from me. First my baba and then my son. How low can you stoop. I thought I could forgive you but after seeing Asher I cannot even bear to look at you. You've got everyone wrapped around your fingers huh? Guess what I am back and I will take my son with me."

Soniya shivered on hearing the words.

"For God's sake your baba was my baba as well. Why don't you see my pain. I have never negated the fact that you are Asher's father. Don't do such Injustice to me. Please have some mercy on me."

Soniya pleaded and started crying. Eezad didn't know what took over him but he hugged her and patted her back as she cried hard. Soon sleep consumed her. Eezad couldn't resist but looked at her. He wiped her tears and got off the bed to close the door and switch off the lights.

He came back to bed and laid on Soniya's side as he saw her and Asher snuggled together. He put his arm over both of them and snuggled his face in Soniya's hair.

Maybe the ice was melting gradually and God had written something good for all of them.

Surely there comes ease after every trouble.
