"Do you know where your brother-in-law is?" Bella asked, suspecting that Andreas Corby might have been the one who hired Dark Skull to investigate her.

Jack was uncertain as to why she was inquiring, but he responded regardless, "I've been told he's been chastised by both his parents and his wife. They blamed him for the recent events and instructed him not to leave the house for some time. Thus, he's essentially been confined to his home since his arrival here. What prompts your question?"

Bella was taken aback to learn that Andreas had made it to and remained in New York. She had imagined him still in her country, devising a heinous plan to exact vengeance upon her. But it appeared she had been mistaken.

"When exactly did he get there?" she pressed, seeking confirmation.

"I can't say for certain, but it was probably the day after we let him go. What's going on, Bella? Why this sudden interest in him? Has he wronged you in some way?"
