CHAPTER 14: RUINS PT 2
Noctis got his throwing knives ready as Ruri started to cast protection to give them a barrier and Krox summoned some lizard skeletons to help them fight. They waited for some indication of an assault to start.
They were behind the protection spell and then they heard it. They heard many goblins trying to break down the door. Once the door broke open a bit Noctis threw a throwing knife instantly killing one. Faye started to fire arrows and Dain started to sling stones.
Faye fired another arrow and said, "I cannot tell how many there are but something strange is among them."
A giant club then broke down the door. Both Goblin Slayer and Noctis threw a throwing knife. They both landed a hit on the creature's chest, but it did little to affect it.
Goblin Slayer frowned under his helmet, "A Goblin Champion."
Noctis looked up at it. It was at least as big as the ogre he had killed. It was also somehow uglier. A ton of regular goblins started to charge through the now broken-down door.
Goblin Slayer pulled out his main sword "We will charge through."
Krox came beside him "Indeed let my blade assist you."
Noctis was going to help but he wanted to stay by Faye in the back he grabbed more throwing knives and kept hurling them towards the goblins. Many goblins started to bang their heads against the barrier breaking their noses or knocking themselves out. Goblin Slayer and Krox started to charge forward.
Noctis would take his time and throw his knives with precision at goblins that would try to attack Goblin Slayer or Krox from the side or behind. He protected every blind spot that he could.
Noctis took a couple side glances at Ruri making sure she was fine. Her mental state was extremely important to keep the barrier up. She seemed fine, scared but in control.
Noctis decided to help her a bit "Ruri make sure you stay focused this barrier is very important right now. Let us handle everything you just focus on your magic."
Ruri nodded as she kept focusing on making sure her barrier stayed up. Goblin Slayer went to attack the Goblin Champion. However, right when Goblin Slayer stabbed his sword towards the Goblin Champion the Champion grabbed a small goblin to block the strike.
He then swung his giant club at Goblin Slayer. Noctis threw multiple throwing knives at the Goblin Champions elbow in hopes it would stop the attack. While he hit his target it swung through it and hit Goblin Slayer up in the air. Crashing him into the ceiling and dropping down on a coffin.
Ruri yelled "Goblin Slayer!"
Noctis looked over and he could see high amounts of blood being coughed up by Goblin Slayer. He then quickly turned to Ruri and his eyes widen she began to lose control and started to freak out. He looked back at the protection spell and saw that it was fading.
Noctis quickly said "Ruri focus. We still need the protection spell."
He did not get a response he yelled "Ruri!"
Still no response. She screamed "Nooooo!!!!"
Noctis then watched as the barrier faded. He pulled out his war axe and his dagger as he got ready for the multitude of goblins to flood them. He would do everything he could to make sure they would not reach Faye.
However, they came at him like a tidal wave. Noctis stood in front of Faye, Ruri and Dain. They only had range attacks, so Noctis took the brunt of the goblins. Luckily many of them did not have weapons. He would go from one goblin to the next splitting their heads open. He killed as many as he could an as efficiently as possible. Even throwing multiple throwing knives with one hand.
So many were still getting passed him, however. They also started to try, and dog pile him. He heard Faye say, "Ruri, we need you to focus."
Noctis was getting surrounded by goblins as many jumped on him. He then heard Faye screaming. He quickly turned as he saw many goblins on top of her. Clawing at her. He heard Dain yell "Unhand her!"
Noctis looked over and then saw Ruri in front of the Goblin Champion. The Goblin Champion came before her as she was in shock and pure terror. She began to piss herself in fright. The Goblin Champion picked her up and bit into her arm as she screamed in pain.
Noctis looked back over to Faye. The goblins started to rip her clothes apart. She screamed "Let me go."
Noctis's pupils shrank he was in a rage. He started to throw goblins off him with all his strength. As he started to kill as many as he could to reach Faye. He had no thoughts just pure rage running through his mind.
No matter how many he killed more and more started to appear before him to block his way. Almost mocking him that he would never make it in time.
He looked towards Faye again and saw that she was almost fully exposed. A strip of cloth was all that separated her chest from being bare. As well as her lower body.
Noctis then felt his phone vibrate. A katana sheath appeared at his side the actual blade appeared in his hand. He was confused but he could still hear Faye screaming. However, everything around him was becoming slower. As time seemed to reach a stand still. He blinked for a second and he saw himself in a white room.
He looked around and there were no goblins. No Faye or anyone else from his group in sight. There was only a girl with pink hair and red eyes. She was in gothic black clothes.
The girl walked before Noctis "Well at least you are not a human. Although with your ears I would like to say that you are also a vampire but, clearly not."
Noctis looked around "Where am I? I need to get back to my friends."
The girl walked around Noctis "You are in my domain. I am the in the sword you just grabbed. I am Krul Tepes. From the high-ranking Progenitor Council."
Noctis immediately remembered who she was however he was confused as to why she was in his new katana. However, he quickly got rid of his confusion and it was replaced by anger.
Noctis looked at her with an expression of pure blood lust "I don't care about any of that right now. I need to go back!"
Krul even though being shorter than him seemed to still look down upon him. She jumped up and kicked Noctis to the ground she laughed a bit "Sorry, I could not really hear you. Could you say that again?"
Noctis did not even respond as he started to violently shake. The once white room was slowly starting to turn black. A long horn started to come out of the left side of his forehead. He slowly got up from under Krul's heel. He forced her back. She looked at him he had a giant horn coming out of his left forehead and his right eye became red as blood dripped out of it.
Krul grit her teeth "A bloody Seraph in the making."
Krul sighed "Very well. I will help you out."
Krul started to laugh "However we must talk after."
Noctis vanished from the white room that was slowly turning black as he left it turned back to white. Krul looked around "How unlucky for me at least."
Noctis was now back in the room with the goblins. He was still in a rage state however he felt more in control then he did a second ago. He heard Faye's screaming again and saw multiple goblins over her. He gripped his katana as multiple katanas appeared in the air around him and started to pierce through the goblins around him.
Goblin Slayer who was also in a rage state had used the blonde hair from the skeleton earlier to come up behind the Goblin Champion who was still holding Ruri and began to choke it. Noctis had no idea how but he had his own person to save.
Noctis took a step and instantly appeared over Faye and the goblins. He then took what seemed like one swing however it was about a hundred as each goblin merely exploded into a mist of blood. Faye stared up at Noctis. She was really happy that he came to recuse her, but she was also concerned as she could see blood dripping from his eyes as well as a horn coming out of his head. His mask had fallen off when the horn came in.
After he made sure Faye was safe, he took off his cloak and covered her up. Noctis then went from goblin to goblin starting from the closest ones to Faye and began to kill them all. The goblins began to run away. As Goblin Slayer also took an eye from the Goblin Champion. The Goblin Champion slowly made its way out of the room as well. Goblin Slayer and Noctis started to kill as many as they could.
Goblin Slayer however was at his limit and took a knee on the ground and started to gasp for air. Noctis wanted to keep pushing forward and exterminate the rest, but he thought of Faye and decided to make sure that she was okay.
When he sheathed the katana, his horn instantly went away, and he immediately started to throw up buckets of blood. He felt someone get to his side and hold him. He looked over and saw Faye.
Noctis smiled "How you doing?"
Faye started to cry a bit "I should be asking you that."
