General Ross wielded unparalleled power within the military, a position that fueled his ambition to dominate the world, especially given his current animosity.
Extracting serum from the Abomination, he engineered ten monstrous entities akin to it, cautious not to overstep for fear of rebellion. With eleven nearly invincible behemoths at his command, alongside the US military's elite forces, his ambitions swelled.
Upon learning of SHIELD's departure from the US, he seized the initiative to lead a direct assault on the organization. His motive? Acquisition of SHIELD's technology and the serum from individuals with superhuman abilities, aiming to assemble the most formidable legion.
Within SHIELD, confusion reigned. No one comprehended why General Ross had launched an attack against them.
Fury, SHIELD's director, seethed with fury and frustration. Under his leadership, SHIELD stood as Earth's premier defense force, untouchable by any adversary. Yet, Tony's creation of the steel armor and Christopher's brazen thefts and provocations had eroded SHIELD's invincibility.
Now, even General Ross, representing the military, threatened SHIELD's stability.
Fury, torn between anger and grievance, knew SHIELD could not initiate hostilities against General Ross, given their shared nationality and leadership.
Thus, Fury, flanked by a contingent of subordinates, ventured onto the deck of an aircraft carrier, brandishing a loudspeaker to address General Ross directly. "General Ross, why encircle SHIELD with your troops? What's your intention?"
General Ross, standing regally atop a colossal tank, flanked by humanoid beasts on each side, and encircled by armed soldiers, remained an imposing figure. Helicopters and fighter jets soared overhead, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
The tension of impending conflict hung heavy in the air.
General Ross, holding a loudspeaker, boomed, "Fury, I suggest you drop your weapons and surrender, or my troops will crush you."
At the sound of Ross's ultimatum, Fury's expression soured, his frustration palpable. Hill interjected, "General Ross, you've launched a covert attack on SHIELD. Are you not concerned about the consequences? Or are you implying that you don't take the higher authorities seriously?"
A faint smile played on General Ross's lips as he retorted, "Fury, drop the act. The entire country knows that SHIELD is pulling out of the United States. Now you're asking me why I'd attack SHIELD? You're out of your mind!"
"General Ross, what are you talking about? SHIELD leaving the United States? How did I miss that?" Fury exclaimed, disbelief etched on his face.
The rest of SHIELD was equally stunned.
"Hmph, whether you acknowledge it or not, it's not my concern. I'm giving you a choice now: surrender or face the consequences," General Ross barked impatiently, unwilling to waste time with idle chatter, knowing full well that SHIELD was no ordinary outfit.
Fury raised his hands in a gesture of pacification. "General Ross, let's not act rashly. This has to be a misunderstanding. SHIELD has no intentions of severing ties with the United States. If you doubt me, ask around."
"I'm not interested in explanations. Surrender or fight," Ross snapped, his patience wearing thin.
Iron Man Tony, standing beside Fury, leaned in. "Fury, I think this is Christopher's doing."
"Indeed, Director. It's likely Christopher, just like last time when he impersonated you to issue orders. This time, he probably posed as you, prompting the top brass to think SHIELD was fleeing the country, leading to this confusion," Hill chimed in.
"I concur. Christopher's cunning knows no bounds. He'd stop at nothing to achieve his goals," Hawkeye added.
Others voiced similar suspicions, unanimous in attributing the blame to Christopher.
Fury himself shared the sentiment, hastily interjecting, "General Ross, you know Christopher!"
Ross, initially poised to give the attack order, hesitated upon Fury's words. "Why bring him up?" he grumbled.
Having witnessed Christopher's might firsthand—recalling his standoff with the Abomination and Hulk—Ross harbored no desire to tangle with him until he had amassed sufficient strength.
"Christopher has a history of causing trouble and manipulating situations," Fury explained. "If this was indeed his doing, attacking SHIELD would play right into his hands. We need to verify the facts before making any moves."
Ross's expression hardened as he considered Fury's words. "Fine. But if I find out you're lying, there will be consequences," he warned.
"We understand, General," Fury replied. "Let's work together to uncover the truth and deal with Christopher."
With a reluctant nod, General Ross signaled his troops to stand down, at least for now. The uneasy truce between SHIELD and the military held, but the tension was palpable as they braced for the next move in their battle against Christopher.
"General Ross, you might not know, but Christopher has infiltrated SHIELD under false pretenses. Just yesterday, he brazenly broke into our facilities, causing conflict and demanding war," Fury explained.
Ross was puzzled. "What does this have to do with me?" he asked.
"It's important because Christopher is a genius in network technology. He can control the entire cyber realm. To get back at SHIELD, he sabotaged our command systems and took down our communications, leaving us cut off. He probably impersonated me or hacked into our channels, urging the country to act against us. We can't be fooled into fighting each other," Fury elaborated.
"So, Christopher is behind the current network outage in the United States?" Ross asked, astonished.
Tony stood up and interjected. "General Ross, I'm Tony Stark from Stark Industries. I can back up Fury's claims. If the US network is down, Christopher is definitely responsible. He's the only one capable of such a thing," Tony affirmed.
Meanwhile, on a private island, Christopher monitored the situation from his lab. Following Optimus Prime's instructions, he let the robot handle tasks while he observed the developments through a holographic projector, eagerly anticipating the clash between SHIELD and General Ross.
Tony's accusations angered Christopher, nearly pushing him to violence. However, Tony's calm words defused the tension.
Christopher thought about his next move. "We need to start a conflict between SHIELD and General Ross," he muttered.
He turned to Optimus Prime and commanded, "Imitate General Ross's voice, amplify it, and continuously repeat one word: 'attack.'"
As General Ross tried to ask more questions, his voice was drowned out by the relentless repetition of "attack" from the loudspeakers.
The sound of marching boots echoed as thousands of soldiers advanced toward SHIELD, armed and ready.
Leading the charge, Abomination and his ten formidable allies stormed towards the SHIELD forces.
Despite Ross's attempts to regain control, his commands were drowned out by the incessant repetition of "attack," leaving him powerless.
Amidst the chaos, Abomination's voice boomed, "Prepare to be crushed, SHIELD! This is your end!"
