Capítulo 83: Excalibur Part 2
I looked at the newly arrived group and questioned why apocalypse was here. From what I heard about him; he wasn't on this plane anymore.
Whatever, I don't have time for this.
" I appreciate the help. But when this is over, we are going to talk." I told the group.
" Sure thing Homme." One of the men spoke.
I turned back to the hordes and raised my great sword and charged back into the fight.
" You heard him, Excalibur. To battle!" The woman wearing the British armor shouted to her fellow soldiers.
' Excalibur? They're named after Arthurs sword?' I wondered. " Questions for later. First, it's time to finish this." I ran through the men in front of me, I needed to get some space between us before I started swinging around my blade.
I jumped into the air to get me some space and I landed right in the middle of the demons.
" RAAAGH!" I turned and swung my blade with all of my might in an arc that cleaved the demons immediately around me in half.
" MAaaah!" I looked over my shoulder and saw a black wraith, a demon that floats in the air and hides behind a black cloak, floating behind me.
" Look out!"
The same thuggish man with that poor accent, threw another object just over my shoulder and hit the creature in the face. The object exploded and he smirked.
" I didn't need your help." I told the man.
" Coulda fooled, Gambit. Looks like you need all da help you can get homme." This Gambit person was annoying. More so than anyone I've ever known.
I quickly pulled a small dagger from my belt and threw it right past Gambit's head and dropped the beast behind him.
" What the?!" Gambit turned around as the beast hit the ground. He then turned back and flipped me off. " Well, no one likes a show." He spoke.
" Just shut up and fight." I told the man.
I was vaguely impressed by these members of Excalibur, they were strong.
Gambit was quick on his feet and his power to explode objects was certainly a game changer. But the others were no slouches themselves. The one woman was strong and the other was an excellent swordsman. They seemed like good people. But there was still the problem. But I needn't worry about him for now. So long as he was helping there was nothing to be concerned about.
P.O.V 3rd person.
" Keep up the assault, their numbers are starting to dwindle. We can do this!" Poseidon shouted to his men.
" Well, he certainly knows how to inspire the troops. And that sword. Do you think he's compensating for something, Captain?" The young Asian girl asked. She threw her hands up and exploding sparks shot out from her hand that decimated the demons in front of her.
" Not now, Jubilee. We need to hurry and be done with this. There's no telling what Morgan is doing with the starlight." The captain spoke. She was wielding a pink blade in her hand and pink shield in her other. She face bashed the demon in front of her with the shield and then spun around a decapitated it with her blade.
" This is getting insane, there's so many of them even with all of the soldiers, there just seems to be no end." Jubilee exclaimed.
" Do not falter young one. We are mutants, strong. We can't allow ourselves to fall with humans." Apocalypse preached.
" Everyone, Get back!" Poseidon suddenly shouted.
" Turn back!"
" Retreat!"
The soldiers all began clearing their ways away from the tower of London, running as fast as they could past their new guests.
" See? Look how they run. Cowards even then." Apocalypse spoke.
" I don't l know who you people are... But you don't want to be here in the next few minutes. The captain is about to unleash his power." One of the soldiers was nice enough to stop and tell Excalibur what was happening.
" We don't run away from danger, human." Apocalypse spoke
" Whatever, suit yourself." The man replied. He quickly disregarded the newcomers and continued running.
" You lot should have left, while you still could." Poseidon spoke to the group. " Not many people can withstand this." Poseidon placed his sword down into the ground and raised his hand.
A bolt of lightning struck down on top of him and from it came his weapon of old. His Trident.
" BUT THAT'S!" Gambit shouted.
The team, Excalibur, all stared in shock at the weapon in the knights' hands. It was one they were all too familiar with.
" It can't be can it. Ah mean, ah know he was alive, but ah didn't think ah'd see him here."
" Neither did I, Rogue." Gambit spoke.
Poseidon ignored the mutants behind him and instead focused on the mission.
" A tower can always be rebuilt. But the lives of the people lost to this battle can never be replaced. You will atone for the sins you committed on these people with your bodies." Poseidon spoke. He raised his Trident into the air and began channeling earthquakes through it. He swung his weapon with all of his might towards the crowded streets of London and the air cracked.
A wide and powerful wave of destruction surged through the crowds, ripping apart the demons in front of him and a very large portion of the town.
" Yeah!!! He did it!"
" The captain did it. The demons are gone!"
" Whew!"
The soldiers all began pouring back in after the devastation and started celebrating.
" Spread out and search for any survivors and demons. Make sure none escape!" Poseidon shouted. " This is our victory men!"
" YAAAAAAHHHHH!"
Poseidon looked out at the destroyed city and shook his head.
He hated having to use his powers in the city. It destroyed so much. Powers like his were made for warfare, but the world was starting to develop more. More cities were popping up, big ones and small ones. It was becoming harder to fully utilize his powers without destroying the world around him.
Poseidon made his way over to the Mutants and took his helmet off.
He saw how they looked at him and smiled, seemingly like they were happy to see him. But instead of giving them a proper greeting like they were expecting, Poseidon raised his Trident up to Apocalypse's chest.
" Ey, ya welcome for the help Homme. Good to see you still got it." Gambit spoke nonchalantly. He smiled and patted Poseidon on his shoulders.
" I thank you for the help. But you need to explain what you're doing here? And more importantly why I shouldn't kill you all for working with apocalypse." Poseidon spoke.
" Okay... Ole Remy didn't see dat comin."
