It would also be difficult to deal with Abomination before it mutated. Fanny vaguely recalled that the test subject that became Abomination was an elite member of the military.
He was in the team that General Ross assigned to arrest Dr. Banner. He was cocky and overconfident, but then Hulk taught him a very harsh lesson about the limits of humanity.
He gritted his teeth, asking Ross to make him beyond human. Thus, Abomination was born.
To find a singular soldier among the millions that the US government employed, Fanny would have better luck forcing himself to desire a man with all his might.
Long story short, Fanny gave up on preventing Abomination's birth. It was a much more complicated situation than Obadiah, so he would be better off facing it afterward.
It was common knowledge that overspecialization generates weakness. The Hulk and Abomination specialized in extreme physical strength and durability, but they were vulnerable to magic. A slap charged with astral magic would be enough to calm them down.
The problem was that Fanny didn't know anything about astral magic. Spells that deal with souls and spiritual bodies require profound knowledge. He couldn't even astral project himself, let alone forcibly project others.
Fanny sighed gloomily at the textbook in front of him. How nice would it be to have maxed-out talent like Doctor Strange?
He had been trying his best to improve his talent through 'Ars Magna,' but the result was unfortunately negligible. Perhaps it was because he couldn't get a clear image of what "improved talent" really meant.
After a dull day of school life, Fanny came to Kamar-Taj to participate in the morning exercise.
However, Mordo immediately came to find him.
"That 'Silver Knight' was you, wasn't it?!"
Tony had monopolized the news headlines, but Fanny and Obadiah were also involved in the incident. Despite not participating in the early phase of the battle, the reporters recorded and photographed him, including when he opened the portal at the end.
Without any clue about his identity and because his armor was similar to a medieval knight, the media gave him the nickname 'Silver Knight.'
"Cough cough!"
Fanny cringed at that nickname. Instead of that rubbish title, he should've been called 'Silver Mage instead! He was a secret mage, you know!
Even though I am wearing armor, relying on close combat, and don't know many spells, I'm still a proper mage!
"What's the matter?" Fanny could not deny it. The entire Kamar-Taj knew what his 'Demon Armor Incursio' looked like. Moreover, only he and Ancient One could brazenly open a Sling Ring portal like that.
"How did you get involved with them?" Mordo asked with a frown. There was a hint of concern in his eyes. Kamar-Taj was not isolated from the outside world and even had an internet connection, so many mages could follow the online news in their free time.
"It was a small accident," Fanny replied in embarrassment. He was too embarrassed to explain that he had used a portal to sneak into someone's house and got caught.
"Are you hurt?" Mordo glanced at Fanny's whole body, but he didn't find any sign of injury. Then he continued, "Was Tony Stark's armor made based on your armor?"
"No." Fanny shook his head. He had extracted 'Demon Armor Incursio' before Tony had made Mark I, but Tony hadn't known about the 'Demon Armor Incursio' back then. The two armors were really unrelated.
"He developed it by himself," Fanny explained, then looked at Mordo. "I didn't expect you to follow the latest news."
"I'm not a savage!" Mordo glared at him. "Now the entire Kamar-Taj knows your name, the mysterious silver knight!"
Fanny felt an incoming headache. He frowned and said hesitantly, "Do you think I should do a press conference and get them to change the nickname? What do you think about Silver Mage?"
"Are you insane?!" Mordo exclaimed in shock. He stared at Fanny incredulously. "Do you want to expose Kamar-Taj into the world?"
"Uh, I was just joking," Fanny stopped teasing the furious Mordo and comforted him, "Don't worry, I won't talk about Kamar-Taj. Tony also doesn't know."
"That would be for the best." Mordo gave him another warning glare. After a moment of hesitation, he asked, "I saw in the video that you seem to be able to fly?"
"Hehe!" Fanny smiled proudly. He activated Sky Dance and floated in the air, looking down at Mordo. "In the future, you can only look up to me."
"When did you learn to fly?"
Mordo was shocked and awed. He knew painfully well about Fanny's talent since he had learned the portal spell in such a short time. And he had learned to fly just a little while later, with a spell that Mordo couldn't comprehend.
"Do you think I'm just an ordinary person?" Fanny rolled his eyes as he landed while giving vague explanations, "I still have other talents. Otherwise, the Master would never accept me as a disciple."
Mordo had investigated Fanny's origin in secret. He discovered that Fanny had come to the New York Sanctum as 'Ancient One's disciple from the outside world.' That means that Fanny didn't meet Ancient One through Kamar-Taj.
"What's so great about that? You only learned a couple of Kamar-Taj's spells even after studying for so long."
Mordo's heart became as sour as a lemon. Although he also had Vaulting Boots of Valtorr that increased his speed and allowed him to 'walk' in the air, it was not as refreshing as flying freely.
Fanny was annoyed by Mordo's words, but it was true that he could only cast two spells after a year he spent learning magic.
The first was the basic of the basics for all mages, the rings of Raggadorr. And the second was the portal spell that he could only open with the assistance of 'Ars Magna' and the Sling Ring.
"By the way, do you know about astral magic?" Fanny asked.
Ancient One had the grand reputation and high status of Sorcerer Supreme, so she couldn't teach the disciples directly every day. She could only supervise and point out mistakes every so often.
Mordo was the person who oversaw and taught the disciples the most, so he knew a lot about spells and magic.
"You want to learn about astral magic?!" Mordo frowned as if uncomfortable with the thought. He warned Fanny, "Projecting your soul out from your body is a dangerous affair. Even a small stimulus could cause great damage to your spiritual body."
"Why do you want to learn this magic?"
Fanny didn't know how to answer. He couldn't exactly say that he planned to fight two big guys with ridiculous physical defense, so he wanted to test their vulnerability against magic.
"Oh, so now you're stopping me from learning new magic. Didn't you say I haven't learned enough spells just now?!" Fanny replied with a pout.
"You should go through the proper steps and go learn more basic spells!" Mordo lectured Fanny, "Don't bite more than you can chew. You should study more basic spells for now; I'll get you some books later, so read them through."
Fanny could feel that Mordo was sincerely trying to help him, so he felt a little embarrassed. He had never really intended to learn any more spells than he needed.
He had come to Kamar-Taj intent on learning only two spells: the portal and the Mirror Dimension. Even now, he only wanted to learn astral magic just to deal with the Abomination.
