Drake came out from the old room and laughed as he pointed a gun at Theo.
"Hello there, Smith," he said, demonically.
The man stopped a few meters from where Theo was. "So, Theo… let's start some convo, shall we? How are you, brother?" asked Drake as the muzzle of the gun still aimed at Theo.
Theo, on the other hand, remained calm that even if he wanted to blow Drake's head off, he couldn't because his loved ones were inside.
"I'm not your brother," Theo replied, emphatically.
The man laughed. He put down his gun and his men pointed theirs to Theo.
Cassie wiggles and tries to speak even though Theo can't understand it. Theo glanced at her, and pity registered in the man's eyes. And his heart pounded fast when he saw his daughter lying on a wooden table, sleeping as Glenda patted her.
"Do you like what you are seeing, Theo?" asked Drake.
Theo turned to Drake. "No. Let's end this. Let them go and you can have me. I'm the only one you need, right?" he said and gritted his teeth.
Drake let out a devilish laugh. "Do you think I'm a fool? We're still going to talk, Theo! Don't you want to know the reason why I wanted to kill you… as well as the important people around you?"
"Tell me."
"I want this as quick as possible. So, you fucking listen to me—"
"Go straight to your point," Theo cut in.
"Let me tell you a story—"
"I thought it should be quick. Why tell me a story then? It took us hours if you start to—"
"Shut up!" the man pointed his gun at Theo. "Shut the fuck up! I can't start the fuck up when you're interfering!" Drake shouted in annoyance.
Theo let out a smirk. Okay, he will buy time first. He raised his hands, "Chill, continue."
"King Hades will soon rule the mortal world and his immense power will help humans to reach their goals. We will be powerful and conquer everything. I want all the obstacles to be cleared of including you."
"Where did you hear that story?" asked Theo.
Drake smirked, "Your uncle told me."
Theo frowned, and suddenly, a man holding a cane approached Drake's side.
Theo's eyes widened. 'How?'
"Long time no see, Theodore. Surprise!" said the old man.
"Uncle Lucas," he whispered. "I thought—"
"You thought that I died that day when your parents died?" The old man shook his head. "Poor you. Here I am, alive and kicking."
"Now, Theo, ask your uncle the details. If only you stayed in the dark and kept your silence, the prophecy has been started. If only you cooperated five years ago… all of us were already invincible."
Theo's fists clenched and glared at Drake. "Cooperated?"
Drake smirked. "Your wife is the perfect candidate. She's the sacrifice but you fucking meddle and shouted in the middle of the ritual!"
Bingo!
Drake Smith is one of the members of the cult who killed his wife. And now, the surprising part is, even if his uncle is part of it.
He badly wanted to kill them at this instant but Cassie and her daughter were their captives.
"I will never let you, demons, to fulfill whatever you—"
"Oh, shut up!" said Drake and fired his gun. The bullet then grazed on Theo's left arm.
Cassie sobbed loudly. Camila just woke up and the little girl started to cry.
The gunshot wound to Theo's arm was just a graze. He held his arm and felt the red, sticky, hot liquid from there.
"You came to this point because of your useless agenda? Immortality? Hades? Your fucking God is hopeless" he looked in his uncle's direction before he turned back to Drake. "You will pay for everything you have done to me and Hilary. I won't be surprised by your doings."
The old man laughed. "You're smart and it's a loss if you get killed."
'I will fucking kill you all!'
"Really? You can kill me?"
"Shut up!" yelled Drake and fired his gun again at Theo, but this time, the bullet that was aimed in Theo's direction was immediately dodged by a long, shiny, and sharp katana.
Assassin.
A man in a black suit was holding a katana and intercepted and dodged the bullet from Drake's gun. Soon, its comrades quarreled and surrounded the place.
"Surrender now, and I promise, you won't get hurt," said Theo. It's the stupidest idea Theo had. He was known to be the killing machine but now, he wants them to suffer slowly.
Drake was already trembling in fear, but he stood still. He raised the phone he was holding and waved it in the air. "If I'm going to die, why not drag your beloveds with me?" he said.
Drake was about to press the phone button when Theo immediately picked up his gun in his holster and shot Drake's hand. The phone fell to the ground. The sound of the fired gun was the signal for the mafia assassins to attack—it's all part of the plan.
People inside could not move anymore as the assassins pointed their sharp katanas at them. Theo walks closer to Cassie. He caresses the woman's face.
"You're safe now," he stated.
He untied her and removed the cloth gag in her mouth. And Cassie immediately ran to her daughter, who was still crying. She then carried the little girl to calm her down.
"Aw, what a cute family?!" shouted Drake and laughed. "Do you think, things will be easy just like that? I'm not a fool, Theo. If I die, I will drag you down. And I'm going to take this building down. Now, let's play, finding the bombs," he said and grinned.
"Theo, he… he knows something about the death of your w-wife."
Theo kissed Cassie on her forehead. "I know. I know," he said and remained calm as possible. He doesn't want to show her his eagerness to chop off Drake's head. "Everything's going to be fine. Let's get you out," he continued. "Don't let them escape. Take all of them out of this building!" He looked at the group of assassins who were slaying Drake's men.
"Theo, where's Rona and Vince," she asked between her sobs.
"Stay here and I will get back to get them," said Theo but she stopped him.
"No. It's dangerous—"
"All bombs were defused!" shouted Kurt, holding a shotgun that rested on his right shoulder. His left hand was in his left pocket while he walked closer to them.
"No… how?" Drake said softly. But he also knew the answer. He knows how smart Smith was. He knows that nothing is impossible with the help of the big boss. But he laughs loudly, "As expected. But the bomb attached to your daughter, Smith, will explode. And you can't do anything about it. It's a kind of bomb that has multiple wires that are all connected in one line. If you cut any of it—boom!" he gestured a blast in his hand. "It's a newly formulated bomb. So, how's that?"
"Use a fogger."
Everyone's attention was grabbed by the newcomer.
"Moretti," Theo whispered.
Blake Moretti was wearing black pants, and a black T-shirt tucked into his black leather jacket. His black hat covered his face, and only his mouth was visible. His aura is unusual because it gives goosebumps.
"Drake Carter, I hereby sentence you to death—" Drake suddenly grabbed the gun strapped to the side of the man who was holding him. Things happened fast and almost everyone inside didn't expect what he did.
He easily pulled the trigger and Theo fell off the ground... and blood started to flow down from him.
"No!" Cassie screamed.
Everyone was shocked by what happened. Moretti didn't think twice as he pulled the trigger and shot Drake on the forehead. The latter then fell off the ground, breathless.
"Drake!" Mira screamed at the top of her lungs when she saw her husband shot. She tried to escape from Ambrose's tight grip. "No! Cassie! I will kill you! Let me go!" She continued to struggle out of Ambrose but the latter was strong enough to restrain her.
Suddenly, Mira bites his hand, making Ambrose loosen his hold on her. Mira took the chance to grab his gun swiftly and pulled the trigger, aiming it at Cassie's daughter.
At that moment, Cassie's world started to collapse miserably. "Camila!" she screamed as she rushed toward Kurt, who was holding her daughter in his arms.
THERE'S NO bloody war but the fall of Theo and Camila gives a thousand stabs on everyone's chest. All of them were saved but Theo and Camila are inside the ER, fighting between living and death. A moment ago, he was smiling at Cassie, stating everything would be fine. Cassie doesn't know if he can survive when the trauma of holding her daughter's unconscious body keeps on playing inside her head.
After waiting for almost an hour, the doctor announced that Camila didn't make it and Theo was in a coma.
Theo was shot in the head, and according to research, only 5% of people who are shot in the head live. When a bullet hits a person, it sends all of its energy to the human tissue, hurting it.
It is possible for a bullet to do more damage if it is heavier and goes faster. Theo was hit in the head, not the body, which makes it harder to guess what will happen. Assuming that the skull is a box that holds the brain. There isn't much room for the brain or head to move or swell.
The bullet track may be big, but the damage from the brief hole that forms is even worse if the bullets go into the head and bounce around. Because the brain can't move, the shock waves often do damage that can't be fixed.
Hearing that statement wrecked Cassie's heart. She screamed at the top of her lungs. Cried out in pain.
She almost fainted when she saw the lifeless body of her daughter.
"She's young! Oh, God, she's young and innocent!" she said over and over again.
Her anguish is universally felt. Whispers were muted. They observe her as she grieves the loss of her daughter.
As Blake watched Cassie scream and cry while clutching her daughter's body, he couldn't help but let a tear escape his eyes.
Just then, a doctor strode up to him and broke yet another devastating piece of news.
"Theodore Smith is dead."
