Aiden was just about to lift the fork to his mouth when Katie's voice cut through the air. He halted mid-motion, casting a sharp glare in her direction. With an irritated sigh, he dropped the fork and took a long sip of the water in front of him.
"What do you mean by that, Katie?" he demanded, his gaze drifting to her protruding belly. He hadn't anticipated her jealousy; after all, they weren't even married.
"You cannot bring another woman into this house while I'm here!" Katie's voice rose, filled with anger. "We had an agreement, and I expect you to make this whole charade look convincing!"
