"What do you mean Gio is locked up?" I asked, my brows furrowing in concern as I tried to make sense of the news. "He's in jail, and he said he's being transferred back to Ontario, but at another jail," Souline explained, her voice tinged with worry. "Where is Gia?" I asked. "She's in the district," Souline said.

"Well, we have to go get them then," I said. "Hell no," Carlos said. "What the fuck do you mean, 'hell no'? That's our friend who's in jail!" I said, frustration bubbling beneath the surface as I confronted Carlos's resistance. "Does it look like I give a fuck? What am I supposed to tell the cops when they see me back there?" Carlos asked.
