Capítulo 19: Chapter 19

Ontario, Canada.

Souline's pov:

RING!

My phone rang, and I grabbed it. I awoke quickly, hoping it was Alliana. I sat up and turned on my lamp. I turned it on to see who it was. My brow furrowed as I read the message's title, "NO CALLER ID." I went to see what the message was because the user had just left one.

I was so happy that Alliana was safe and texted me from a different device, but I was mad that Carlos dumbass ordered people to kidnap Alliana just for his shitty case. I quickly messaged back so that she knew I have received her message.

"Oh my God! Alliana, I'm relieved you're okay. I thought something terrible had occurred to you other than being abducted. I'll be traveling to Rome to pay a surprise visit. I went to see Velma for you because you weren't here. Instead of worrying her about your disappearance, I told her you were sick. She said she hoped to see me soon before it was too late, but before I could ask what she meant, the nurses said it was time to go. Stay put and don't leave. I'll alert you when I arrive in Rome."

I waited for a response but assumed it was too late for her and that she was asleep. I returned my phone to the nightstand and went to the bathroom to shower and complete my routine. After that, I went to my room and grabbed my laptop, which was on top of my basket. I quickly turned it on and looked for the nearest Rome ticket.

I looked at one that was on Friday, November eighteenth, at four p.m., and it cost four hundred for a ticket. The issue wasn't the price, but it was the only flight available, so I took it. Today is the twenty-seventh of October, which means I have to wait for another half-month. I was exhausted and stressed, I might as well drive myself there.

I decided to wait a little longer because of the Celeste and Celine case to see if they had any new information. I'm hoping Alliana and I can text until then because I know she doesn't want to be there by herself.

Particularly with them.

Rome, Italy.

Alliana's pov:

For the first time since being trapped in this shithole, I was sleeping peacefully until I was awakened by a loud bang. I awoke quickly, turned on the lamp beside me, and looked around; it was still dark and the sun wasn't out.

I looked around the room and saw nobody there, but the hallway lights were turned on. I creased my brows and climbed out of bed. I walked up to the door and creaked it halfway open to see what was going on. Nothing happened at first, until a pair of dark hazel eyes popped through the door, scaring the shit out of me and making me flinch.

It was Kai.

Kai laughed out loud and pulled the door open, inviting himself into the room. "When we came to get you, this room was so organized, and now that you have fucking clothes and shit like that, it's turned into the holocaust," Kai explained. I looked around the room and saw my bags strewn about.

"I don't see the problem; after all, what else was I supposed to do when none of you idiots helped me bring these bags?" I asked, crossing my arms. "Maybe you could arrange it? put it to the side rather than in the center?" Kai said as he turned to face me. "In that small area?" I asked, pointing my finger to get his attention.

"Or the closet?" Kai asked. "The closet is small enough that I'm able to fit myself into it," I explained. "Yeah, and maybe put Vex inside because you both look like little dwarves," Kai said as he approached the door.

"What brings you here?" I asked. "To see if you're awake?" Kai asked. I looked at the alarm clock next to the lamp, and it was fucking five a.m. "Why would I be awake at five o'clock in the morning?" I asked. "To go to work? Just because you're in Rome doesn't mean you'll be treated like a goddess," Kai stated. "I should after looking over you assholes!" I exclaimed.

"You don't watch over us, love; don't be delusional," Kai said. "Are the others awake?" I asked. "Of course, I treat everyone equally," Kai explained. "So get moving. Shower and change your clothes."

Kai then exited the room, shutting the door behind him. I stood there for a brief moment before noticing he had left. I returned to my bed after hearing no more footsteps. I turned around and placed my hands behind the bed to find the phone.

I'm hoping Souline texted me back despite the fact that it was on a different number. I dug my hand around, hoping to find the phone, but it was impossible. I sighed and stood up, grabbing the edge of the bed and slowly moving it to the side so it didn't make any noise.

I heard something fall after moving the bed to the side. I dashed inside and grabbed the phone that was turned upside down. I placed the phone on the bed and returned it to its original position. When I turned it on, I received a notification. I gasped and went to my messages to see if Souline had responded.

My heart began to beat quickly in a good way, and my hands began to shake. When I read what she said, I felt both happy and annoyed. I'm glad she got my message and shit, but seriously, she has to wait until November eighteenth to fly out to Rome.

I was about to send a text when I heard footsteps. I hurried to the bathroom, hiding my phone under the mattress. I turned on the shower to give the impression that I was showering.

I heard the door open and peered out from behind the curtains to see who it was; it was Vex. "She's showering," Vex said as he exited the room. "Thank God," I said as I stepped out of the shower.

To avoid any suspicions, I decided to text Souline after I showered. I walked over to the sink and took my toothbrush from the cabinet. I stripped down to my underwear from the night before and entered the shower. I turned the shower on cold, then lowered the temperature to hot. I started brushing my teeth, and I brushed them twice because I had bad morning breath.

I then started washing with a soap I had bought the day before. I shampooed my hair twice and then rinsed it with conditioner. I then combed my hair with a new brush and rinsed away any remaining product. I rinsed my hair once more before turning off the showers. I took one of my towels and wrapped it around my hair to dry it. I grabbed another towel and began to dry off my body, wiping away the droplets.

I returned to my room and dug through my bags, discovering my new bra and underwear. I chose the black set because it suited my mood today. After I chose my underwear, I grabbed my bag, which contained my lotion and other essentials.

I started putting lotion on, then put on my bra and underwear and sprayed one of my new perfumes on. I removed the towel from my hair and clipped it so I could put on my clothes.

I took another bag out and took out one of my black jeans. I put on the jeans before grabbing another bag containing a black hoodie. I put it on and grabbed my socks before putting on my shoes.

After putting on my clothes, I reapplied the perfume and envisioned how I would style my hair. I decided to put my hair in a ponytail and let some stand out. Everything was arranged and put in its proper place by me.

I went downstairs, left the phone under the mattress, and turned off the lights. Going downstairs, I noticed Mimi staring at me from her bed. I approached her and gently petted her, assuring her that I was not a threat. I smiled and walked away as she purred and licked my hand.

When I got to the kitchen, I saw Kai, Vex, AJ, and Denzel eating. "You took forever," Kai remarked. "So? I was changing and showering at the time," I said. "I told you, women's necessities," AJ explained. "Shut the fuck up, AJ," Vex said. "Vex, don't even begin when you bitched about a cat," Kai said.

"What was I supposed to do when she bit me?" Vex wondered. "Man, fuck up, we're not pussies!" Kai exclaimed. "It's simple to say when you haven't been bitten!" exclaimed Vex. "Whatever," Kai said as he turned to face me, "why are you still standing up? Take a seat and eat."

I rolled my eyes and took a seat across from Vex, next to Kai. "What are you guys eating?" I asked as I examined their plates. "Food?" Kai asked. "Could you be more specific? pancakes? waffles? "I asked. "You see me eating scrambled eggs, bacon, and french toast," Vex explained. "I already ate my shit, so I have nothing on mine," Kai explained. "Where should I place my order?" I asked. "Just ring the bell," AJ said as he took the bell and placed it on my side.

Ring! Ring!

A man came in after I rang the doorbell and looked at us. "Yes?" he asked, his voice thick with a French accent. "Can I get scrambled eggs with bacon?" I asked. "Is there anything else, madam?" asked the man. "Coffee with milk," I implied. "Coffee with milk?" Kai asked as he looked at me. "Um, yes?" I said. "Why not ask for creamer?" Kai suggested. "Because I want milk," I clarified. "Yes, ma'am," the man said as he turned to walk away, but he stopped when I called him.

"In fact, sir, what is your name?" I asked. "My name is Montero," the man said. "Nice to meet you, Montero," I said. Montero bowed and exited. "Hm, I thought his name was Adrien," Vex remarked. "You're a moron. The most recent chef to steal from us was Adrien," Kai explained. "Whatever," Vex said.

Within a few moments, Montero returned with my plate and coffee. "Your food and coffee, senora," Montero said as he placed my utensils on the table in front of me. "Thank you so much, Montero," I said. "Bon appetite," Montero said as he walked away.

I was about to start eating when Kai interrupted me. "We're going somewhere as soon as you finish eating," Kai said. "Where?" I asked. "First, I need to run some errands before meeting with an investigator," Kai explained. "Investigator? Why do you need the help of an investigator?" I asked.

"He has information to give me that has nothing to do with you," Kai explained. "How come I'm going?" I asked. "We don't trust you here," Kai explained. "Who is going to keep an eye on Mimi?" I asked. "Who else is there? The maids. Now hurry up and eat," Kai said as he left along with Vex, AJ, and Denzel.

I rolled my eyes and started eating. The scrambled eggs were a little too salty, and the pancakes were sweet and cinnamon-flavored, but the coffee was fantastic. I rushed through my meal. I was about to stand up when Montero appeared.

"Are you finished, ma'am?" Montero asked. "Yes, I was going to take this to the kitchen," I explained. "Let me do it for you; I don't want you to get in trouble with Sir Rivera," Montero said as he took my plate and walked into the kitchen.

Kai returned to the room and leaned against the frame. "Are you ready?" Kai asked. "Yes, let me just go get my purse," I said. I was about to pass him when he grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the stairway."No, we're leaving right now, so let's go."
