Capítulo 57: Did She Just Employ Kinematic Equations To Calculate The Optimal Angle For A Precise Hit?

Donning the goggles meticulously crafted by Mila, Charlotte prepared herself for the impending battle. She took a moment to steady her breath, letting the anticipation course through her veins. With a calm determination, she pulled the bowstring and felt the flexibility and strength of the masterpiece in her hands.

"Mila created this remarkable bow in just a matter of minutes... solely for me to use," Charlotte marveled, her voice filled with appreciation. "I won't let her efforts go to waste. I will give it my all... and make the most of what I can do."

With a swift and practiced motion, she slid an arrow into position, its tip gleaming with deadly intent. Raising the bow, Charlotte took aim, her mind instantly calculating the variables at play.

"Wind power seems insufficient to alter the arrow's course," she murmured to herself, analyzing the environmental factors. 'The projectile is fired 20 meters above the ground, while the intended target is positioned 70 meters away from me. Considering the initial velocity of 50, what angle do I need to achieve a precise hit?' Lowering the bow, Charlotte mulled over her calculations. 'Considering the neglect of factors like wind resistance... I believe the answer lies around 16 degrees,' she pondered, her mind sharp and analytical. 'However, accounting for possible discrepancies, it might fall within the range of 16 to 15 degrees.'

With her decision made, Charlotte released the arrow with a swift motion, the sound of its flight slicing through the air. Without skipping a beat, she swiftly retrieved more arrows and effortlessly nocked them into the bow. With each release, her aim remained true, her arrows finding their mark with deadly precision, piercing the enemies' heads or hearts.

'This bow is truly incredible. I can hardly believe that Mila created such a masterpiece in just a matter of minutes. If I were to bring this back to Readleaf village... perhaps I would finally stand a chance against my brother.' As soon as the thought surfaced, Charlotte shook her head, dismissing it as quickly as it had appeared. 'No, no,' she scolded herself silently. 'Now is not the time to be consumed by thoughts of personal matters. I must remain focused on the task at hand, on our mission.'

With renewed determination, Charlotte unleashed a barrage of arrows, each finding its mark with deadly precision.

As Cian observed Charlotte's adept use of the bow, a mix of surprise and admiration crossed his face. 'Did she just employ kinematic equations to calculate the optimal angle for a precise hit? So, she possesses the ability to apply mathematics to her marksmanship,' he mused, recognizing the true source of her deadly accuracy. While not naturally inclined towards archery, Charlotte's meticulous calculations allowed her to make every shot count, turning her into a formidable force on the battlefield. 'She may not be a sharpshooter, but she's undoubtedly a math prodigy.'

Shifting his gaze to Maya, he noticed her knowing smile. It was as if she understood his thoughts and intentions. Cian's eyes conveyed his silent message to her. 'While I acknowledge their usefulness, I won't be the one to make the decision for them. Ultimately, it is their choice whether to join us or not.'

Maya nodded.

Returning to the battle, Cian took a moment to gather himself, inhaling deeply to calm his nerves. Meanwhile, Maya's attention shifted to Freya, who seemed downtrodden, her head lowered throughout the ordeal. Maya could sense Freya's helplessness, knowing there was little she could do to assist.

'Don't worry, Freya,' Maya reassured her in her mind. 'Master has recognized your value.'

Maya understood that Cian saw Freya as more than just a burden. There must be something about her that had caught his attention and prompted him to ask Maya to protect her. Although Maya wasn't aware of Freya's unique abilities, she trusted that Cian had discovered something significant.

As Maya contemplated Cian's intelligence and strategic thinking, she couldn't help but feel a surge of desire. 'Just the thought of how clever and calculating my Master is... It's enough to make me excited,' she thought to herself, feeling a warmth and wetness between her thighs. However, the chilly night breeze caused a shiver to run down her spine. 'Ugh... It's so cold out here... I wish I could put on some clothes,' she muttered, as she noticed liquid dripping from her private parts onto the cold floor.

A man dressed in black peered through his binoculars, observing the inn from a distance. Frustration etched on his face as he spoke to his subordinate.

"Damn, this is giving me a headache. Wasn't the report clear that there were only six of them, and the three were just women our men had captured?" he grumbled.

"Yes, sir," the subordinate replied.

"Then how the hell are our men struggling to eliminate them?" the man asked, his voice filled with annoyance.

"Uh, well... it seems the enemies are more powerful than anticipated, sir," the subordinate stammered. "According to the latest report, one of them single-handedly took on the entire Knight Order and defeated them all. And another managed to defeat fifty of our guys armed with just a pistol."

The man in black let out a frustrated sigh, rubbing his temples.

"No matter. We'll just rain bullets on that inn until it's riddled with holes. We won't give them a moment's respite to escape!" the man declared with determination. "Keep shooting, don't let up. By the time the sun rises, they'll be nothing but ashes. No matter how formidable someone may be, it's impossible to fight off enemies from all sides. By the time the first rays of sun peek over the horizon, they'll be reduced to cinders." Turning to his subordinates, he issued a command. "Get them on the line. It's time for those bastards inside that inn to face the flames."

The subordinate brought a walkie-talkie close to his mouth and spoke into it. "It's time."

With those words, another group of adversaries prepared to take the stage, ready to unleash their assault on the inn.

Celia Silvercrest and the other knights of the Knight Order had also arrived in Edrelle upon hearing reports about the impending threat of the Black Dogs. After recovering from their encounter with the masked woman, they wasted no time in joining the fray.

Celia turned to Eliana Emberwood, known as Lia among her close friends, with concern etched on her face. "Lia, are you absolutely sure you want to be a part of this fight?" she asked.

Lia nodded, determination shining in her eyes. "I-I know I might seem stubborn, but I genuinely want to contribute and help all of you," she replied.

Rhiannon Blazeguard, affectionately called Rhia, glanced at the wounds on Lia's legs. It had only been a few hours since she had been struck by eight bullets. "You should have rested, Lia! There's no way you can fight in your current condition!" she exclaimed, worry evident in her voice.

"Yawn," Nix Nightarrow lazily let out a yawn, but she nodded in agreement. Despite having her own injuries to contend with, she knew that Lia's condition was far worse.

"B-But it doesn't matter. I'm still a member of the Knight's Order, and it's my duty to uphold the peace of our kingdom," Lia insisted, her voice filled with determination. "Being injured isn't an excuse for me to shy away from this fight. Besides, it's just my legs that were hit. As a marksman, I can still contribute with my gun without relying on my legs. Please, don't worry about me. I can still hold my own."

Nix and Rhia exchanged surprised glances. They had never seen Lia, who was usually flustered and quick to apologize for her mistakes, exhibit such unwavering resolve before.

Samantha Brightblade, who had remained silent until now, also spoke up, her voice laced with determination. "No matter how poorly our last battle against that woman went, we must rise up again and again to protect our kingdom," she declared, her usually cheerful tone replaced by a strong resolve. "Those individuals who have caused havoc in our kingdom will face the consequences of their actions."

She still couldn't shake off the lingering fear that had gripped her during her encounter with the masked woman. However, Samantha understood that allowing fear to control her would only hinder her progress.

"Anyway, now that we're here, I believe it's time for us to spring into action, don't you agree, Miss Paladin?" Samantha said, turning her attention to their other companion.

The Paladin, distinguished by her white hair and piercing red eyes, gazed back at Samantha with a stern expression. "Don't get too comfortable with me. I may have disdain for the Knight Orders, but I find you even more bothersome."

Samantha grinned mischievously, undeterred by the Paladin's sternness. "Oh, but I adore you, Miss Paladin. Or should I say, my little sister?" With a swift motion, Samantha lifted her helmet, revealing her own white hair and red eyes, bearing a striking resemblance to the Paladin. However, it was clear to anyone observing that Samantha was the more mature of the two, especially when considering certain physical differences. Like their breasts.

"Don't dare call me your little sister! You lost that right the moment you joined the Knight's Order," the Paladin retorted sharply. "Regardless, I am here with all of you simply because I am still a Paladin. I must follow the orders from above, which is why I have no choice but to be a part of this fight."

She then turned her gaze towards Celia, a challenging look in her eyes. "And don't you dare give me orders. You may be the captain of the Knights, but I am not a Knight. I am to be commanded only by the Church!"

Celia let out a weary sigh. "I understand. You're not under my command, and your allegiance lies with the Church. That is clear to me. However, I implore you to cooperate with us. We're not here to fight amongst ourselves; we're here to fight together. Will you work with us?"

The Paladin met Celia's gaze. "I'm not so stubborn as to refuse cooperation. As a daughter of Brightblade, I swear upon our goddess Seres that I will not let you down and will cooperate with you. I have no intention of becoming a disappointment to my family, unlike this so-called 'Silver Knight' over here," she declared, her voice filled with determination and a hint of disdain.

"I'm glad we're on the same page. Personal matters aside, our duty is to protect the kingdom above all else. Remember that," Celia emphasized.

The Paladin nodded curtly. "I don't need you to remind me."

"Excellent. Now, let's proceed to where those criminals are wreaking havoc!"

With renewed determination, the members of the Knight's Order, accompanied by the Paladin, marched towards the battlefield.

A woman stood atop the tallest tower in Edrelle, observing the tumultuous chaos unfolding below.

"[...Sienna, what's the situation?]" a voice crackled through her earpiece.

"...Chaos. Absolute chaos," the woman responded, her voice devoid of any emotion, almost mechanical in nature.

[If that's the case, utilize it to your advantage... and eliminate those who are interfering with our plans... understood?]

"...Yes, creator."

With those words, Sienna vanished, carried away by the wind, leaving behind an eerie silence in her wake.
