Zoey worked past her closing time, tired as ever. She crossed over to lookout through her window. The evening sun cast long shadows on the ground. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky.
Sunset was so marvelous that even the sun itself watched it every day in the reflections of the infinite oceans. Watching sunsets was indeed beautiful. The gentle breeze swept her hair across her face, and danced on her skin, which made her shiver.
Her heart almost stopped when she turned around to see Adrian leaning on the doorframe. His hands tucked in his side pockets, the first two buttons of his shirt pried off, rolled up sleeves, and his legs crossed, with a sexy smirk on his face. He was like a handsome Greek god.
It only made her wonder how long he had been in that position.
"H-hey." She stuttered, nervously.
"Sorry if I interrupted." Adrian apologized.
"It's okay. Are we leaving now?".
"My driver hasn't arrived yet. I suggest we watch the sunset together until we're ready to go." he insisted, joining her at the window side.
She grinned at him, her eyes sparkling. That was the cutest thing ever.
"You love to watch it too?" Zoey asked.
"It's been a while. But yeah, I still do."
"What do you mean by that?" she shifted her gaze to him.
His mood became dull, a bit. It brought back the scenarios he had with Kendall.
"Nevermind, Zoey. Life is so fickle. Enjoy the moments while it lasts, and create memories while you can. So, let's not ruin this." he smiled.
The office went silent after he spoke. Only the rhythm of their heartbeats, the swirling of the ceiling fan and their breathing sounds. He tiptoed behind her and pulled his arms around her waist, his neck tilted slightly on her right shoulder.
Experiencing discomfort when her ass was constantly rubbing against his dick. The butterflies in her stomach teased her, causing her to make weird sounds. He didn't want her to feel embarrassed by laughing at her, so he held it.
"Perfect view." He grinned. Something about his tone made her glance up, and she caught him watching her, instead of the sunset. He unleashed a full, genuine smile, lifting his brows and widening his eyes.
Aw, the coy smiles, the fluttering of her eyelashes, the clear look of love– it was a sight to behold.
She looked away, unable to hold his gaze much longer.
"Do you feel… shy?" Adrian asked, with a playful smile dancing on his lips.
"Urh… maybe. I don't know." Slowly, she lowered her eyes and looked off, unconsciously hugging her arm to her body.
He chuckled softly. "It's normal to feel that way. Ease up, okay?" he said, subsiding his laughter.
She smiled, and nodded.
"Please, look at me now. Will you?" his cute puppy eyes begged. Her palms covered her eyes, and she peeked to steal a glance.
His eyes were damn adorable.
Her pupils dilated, "Don't give me that look, please." she giggled, putting down her hands, and looking directly into his eyes.
"You're so childish." Adrian teased.
"Remember?" she asked with a smirk.
"What– Oh, nevermind. The elevator!" he recalled, and they burst into laughter.
Adrian had never been this happy in a long while. They both stopped laughing when his phone rang out. He looked at his screen to see it was his driver calling, and picked at the third ring.
"Good evening, boss." Regan greeted.
"Arrived yet?" Adrian asked.
"Yes, boss."
"Okay. I'll be with you shortly." he said, glancing over at Zoey.
"Alright." With that, the call got disconnected.
On a normal day, Adrian would have been pissed off, but this day was different. He loved his employees being punctual in everything they did. Turned out that he was trained that way too, and expected everyone to do same.
"Packed your stuffs already?" he asked.
"Yeah, I have." she responded.
"Good. Quickly close the windows and turn off the lights." he ordered calmly.
"Sure." In the twinkle of an eye, she was done. She picked up her stuffs, and they left for the car basement–through the hallway, elevator room.
Adrian stopped to grab his briefcase in the reception, and they walked out like couples.
