The endless twilight sky had long lost its original colors.
Charlotte Cooper had also long put down her feelings, like the fleeting sunset, nothing more than a passing sight. After returning, Henry Russell still treated Charlotte coldly but did not leave her to fend for herself. The cold breeze howled outside at night, and the chilled hearts would not warm up under the shelter of the house.
A sudden phone call broke the standoff between Charlotte and Henry, who were staring at each other.
