The sun shined bright, illuminating a beautiful blue ocean, with a light breeze blowing. The sea was calm, like a mirror with islands dotting the horizon. On the deck of the dhow, 1 lone human sittin , looking at a floating, glowing orb. The man reached out and grabbed the orb, and as he did the following words appeared before him:

The man sat for a few minutes staring at the screen before him, trying to wrap his mind around what was going on. "What's going on?"
The man looked around, not understanding what was going on.
He then noticed that there was a map floating in front of him. The map had several dots on it, with numbers above the dots.
He looked over the map, noticing the different dots. The closest dot to him had a number 10,000 above it.
"Huh? Why does that one have a bigger number?"
"That must mean that's the closest person to me," he thought.
"Why do the others have lower numbers?"
As he looked, he noticed the other dots were farther away and had lower numbers above them."Hmm, the further away they are, the lower the numbers get. So, this is the scale of how far away these people are," he concluded.
"Well, the numbers are small. I should have time to think."
"So, a new world? And everyone got transported here, with a boat? Why?"
He began pacing back and forth on the boat. "What are my goals? What am I supposed to do? Where are the others? And what the hell are these talents?"
─ Generating random talents
─ 1: Traveling Underwater.
─ 2: Celestial Navigation.
─ 3: Ghost Fleet.
─ Congratulations, Jack, your talent has been generated.
"Traveling underwater? I can breathe underwater? Is this why I was given a boat?"
─ Celestial navigation? Does that mean I can tell where I am on the map just by looking at the sky?
"Hmm, the other talents seem to have something to do with ships. Maybe I can get better boats if I use them."
"This ghost fleet sounds dangerous. I should look into it later."
He continued thinking. "What are my options right now? Should I look for the other people? Or should I just stay here?"
He sat back down, and after a few minutes, he decided.
"I don't think the others will find me for a while, so I'll head towards the closest island. Maybe I can figure out more about what's going on there."
"It would be nice if I had a way to make this thing go faster."
─ You have acquired the skill: Navigation, Beginner 1.
"Hmm? Oh, this is from my Second talent. I wonder what skills are."
─ Skills are things that can help you. Some can make your life easier. Others can help you achieve things you couldn't otherwise.
─ They are separated into 4 tiers, based on their power and effectiveness.
─ Tier 1: Common: Skills that anyone can learn if they practice enough.
─ Tier 2: Uncommon: Skills that require some sort of natural talent or training to learn.
─ Tier 3: Rare: Skills that require a special talent or training to learn.
─ Tier 4: Legendary: Skills that are unique to an individual, and cannot be learned by anyone else.
─ The higher the tier, the rarer the skill is.
─ You can currently acquire the following skills.
─ Tier 1:
─ - Survival: Beginner 1: This skill allows you to better survive in the wilderness.
─ - Firestarter: Beginner 1: This skill makes it easier to start a fire.
─ - Navigation: Beginner 1: This skill increases the chances of not getting lost.
─ - Observe: Beginner 1: This skill lets you gather information from far away.
"Interesting." He said to himself.
He then noticed an arrow pointing to the north-east, and a label above it that read, "North-East."
He stood up and walked over to the sail and began inspecting it.
"Hmm, I wonder what I can do to make it go faster," he thought.
He then noticed a lever that looked like it controlled the sail.
He pulled the lever and the sail moved down a bit, causing the boat to speed up a bit.
"I see, I can move the lever up and down to adjust the sail."
"How big is the sail?" He asked himself.
He inspected the sail and found a small hole near the bottom.
"Is that the measurement? How is that supposed to tell me how big the sail is?"
He stuck his finger in the hole and felt a small resistance.
"I see, the hole is the unit of measurement, and the resistance is how much space there is."
"Hmm, I can make it smaller, and I can make it bigger, but if I make it too small, the wind won't be able to push the boat forward."
He moved the lever up, and the sail became smaller.
The boat started to slow down, but not as much as it would have without the sail.
"It seems the boat can still move with a small sail."
"I wonder how long it will take to get to the island at this speed," he wondered.
He turned around and looked back towards where he had come from.
He began looking around the boat. "Is there anything else that could help me make the boat go faster?"
He noticed a rope connected to the side of the boat.
He grabbed the rope and pulled on it. It didn't seem to do anything.
He kept pulling and found that it had some resistance, but not a lot.
He put his feet on the side of the boat and started to pull with both arms.
The rope started to strain and the boat started to tilt a bit.
He pulled even harder and the boat started to tilt even more.
He stopped pulling, and the boat righted itself.
"I see, this is a rudder. It's used to steer the boat. If I pull on the rope, the boat will turn in that direction."
He grabbed the rudder and turned it to the left. The boat slowly started to turn left.
He let go of the rudder and the boat turned back to the right.
"It seems I can control the direction of the boat by turning the rudder."
He turned the rudder and the boat turned in the direction he wanted it to go.
"Let's see how fast we can go," he said.
He pushed the lever up all the way, and the boat shot forward.
He let go of the rudder, and the boat started to drift to the left.
"It seems the boat goes fastest when I don't use the rudder. It would be nice if I could make it go straight," he thought.
After a while, the island finally came into view. It was a small, uninhabited island witha small beach.
He could see some palm trees, and a small stream running into the ocean.
He could also see a small building on the beach, but he couldn't make out any details.
"That must be the building the map showed me," he thought.
"Well, here we are."
"Now, how do I get the boat to stop?"
He started looking around the boat, and noticed a large wooden pole with a rope tied to it.
He grabbed the rope and pulled it, and the sail folded up.
The boat slowed down and stopped next to the shore.
He hopped out of the boat and onto the sand.
He then looked at the building and started walking towards it.
When he got closer, he saw that the building was a small hut made of sticks and leaves.
There was a table and some chairs in the middle of the hut, and a small fire pit in the corner.
There was a doorway in the back of the hut, and a small window above it."Well, this is interesting."
"I guess I'll have to wait for the other people to find me, or until someone comes to investigate."
─ You have acquired the skill: Observe, Beginner 1.
"Hmm, the skill is useful," he thought.
─ Skill: Observe, Beginner 1: This skill can be used to gain information about others, objects, and your surroundings.
"Let's try it out."
He pointed at the hut and focused on it.Information began to appear above the hut.
─ Basic Hut: A simple hut made from sticks and leaves.
"That's pretty cool."
He continued looking around and pointing at things, trying to get more information about them.
After a while, he started to get bored.
"Well, there's not much to do here."
"I guess I'll just explore the island."
He left the hut and started to walk around the island.
The island was only about a mile wide, and he was able to explore most of it within a few hours. There were some small animals, such as lizards and birds, but nothing that posed a threat.
The most interesting thing he found was a small spring in the center of the island.
"At least I'll have water," he thought.
As he was exploring, he heard a voice.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
"I'm here," he yelled.
He walked towards the voice, and saw a woman standing on the beach.
"Thank goodness," the woman said. There was a doorway in the back of the hut, and a small window above it.
"My name is Drake. Who are you?"
"I'm Rachel."
"Do you know what's going on?"
"Not really. I woke up on a boat and this message appeared in front of me. It said I'm in a new world and that I'm supposed to become the Lord of the Sea. I've no idea what that means," she explained.
"That's exactly what happened to me," Drake said.
"I was on a boat and a message appeared in front of me. It's like those roleplaying games," Drake said.
"Oh, you know those?"
"I used to play them all the time," he said.
"Anyway, the message said that everyone had been transported to a new world, and that we're supposed to build our own kingdom and fight other people for territory. I'm not really sure what it's all about," he explained.
"Oh, that's a relief. I thought I was going crazy," Rachel said.
"You're not the only one," he said.
"I guess we just have to wait for the others to arrive," she said."Or, we can try to explore the surrounding area and find out more about what's going on. Maybe there are more people or an explanation," Drake suggested.
"Yeah, let's do that," Rachel agreed.
They began to search the island, and soon found a path that led to the beach.
"Well, that's convenient," Drake said.
"It looks like it's made from logs.Maybe someone lived here before us," Rachel said.
"Maybe. Let's follow the path and see where it leads," Drake said.
They walked down the path and eventually came to a large clearing.
In the middle of the clearing was a statue of a woman holding a sword.
"Who is that?" Rachel asked.
"I don't know, but the statue is very detailed," Drake said.
"This must have taken a lot of work to build," Rachel said."What's that?" Drake said, pointing at a piece of paper next to the statue.
"It looks like a note," Rachel said, picking it up.
She read it aloud.
"Welcome to the world of Thalassa. Here you will have the chance to become the Lord of the Sea. You have been given a starting ship and three special talents that will help you on your journey. The first person to reach Rank 1 will get a reward. Good luck," she read."What does that mean?" Drake asked.
"I don't know, but it sounds like a quest," Rachel said.
"A quest?" Drake asked.
"Yeah, it's like a mission you get from a game," Rachel explained.
"Like a roleplaying game?" Drake asked.
"Yes, exactly. Like a roleplaying game," Rachel said.
"Okay, so we have a quest," Drake said.
"But how do we complete it?" Rachel asked.
"We have to reach Rank 1, but I don't know what that means," Drake said.
"Well, maybe it has something to do with the ranking system," Rachel said.
"The ranking system?" Drake asked.
"Yeah, it says right here. The first person to reach Rank 1 will get the reward," Rachel said, reading from the note.
"Okay, so we need to rank up. But how do we do that?" Drake asked.
"I don't know. Maybe we can ask the other people who show up," Rachel said.
"Maybe, but they might not know any more than we do," Drake said."Yeah, but it's worth a shot," Rachel said.
They returned to the hut and waited for the others to arrive.
As time passed, more and more people arrived, and the island soon became crowded.
The first person to arrive was a man named John. He had a strong build and an air of confidence about him.
He quickly took charge, ordering the others around.
The next person to arrive was a young woman named Mary. She was beautiful and seemed to have a gentle disposition. She quickly became the center of attention, with everyone wanting to talk to her.
The next person to arrive was a woman named Sally. She was plain-looking, but had a quick wit and a mischievous sense of humor.
She was quick to make friends and soon had everyone laughing.
The last person to arrive was a young man named Paul. He was quiet and reserved, but had a sharp mind and was quick to learn.
He seemed content to observe the others, but would occasionally join in the conversation.
As the day wore on, the group began to discuss what to do.
Some people wanted to stay on the island and try to build a village.
Others wanted to explore the surrounding area and see what was out there.
Still others wanted to search for other people and try to form an alliance.
Eventually, the group decided to split up.Some would stay on the island and build a village.
Others would explore the surrounding area and look for other people.
And the rest would search for other groups and try to form an alliance.
With their plan in place, the group went their separate ways.
Drake decided to stay on the island and explore the area.
He walked around the island, taking Mental note of the different plants and animals.
He also found a small cave near the edge of the island and decided to explore it.
Inside the cave, he found a small spring.
He decided to camp out there and see what would happen.
The next day, he awoke to the sound of voices.
He exited the cave and saw a group of people standing outside.
"Are you Drake?" one of the men asked.
"Yes, I'm Drake," he replied.
"We've been looking for you," the man said."Looking for me? Why?"
"We've formed an alliance, and we want you to join us," the man explained.
"An alliance? Why do you want me to join?"
"We need strong fighters" the man said.
"I'm flattered, but I'm not interested," Drake said.
"We'll pay you," the man said.
"Pay me?"
"Yes, we'll give you a share of the loot," the man said.
" The answer is still no" Drake said.
"Fine, but if you change your mind, we'll be in the village," the man said.
Drake watched as the group left.
"What was that about?" Drake thought to himself.
Drake explored the area around the cave, and eventually found a path that led to the beach.
On the beach, he found a small hut.
Inside the hut, he found a book.
He opened the book and read it.
It was a book about the history of the island.
