The clock strike mid-night when I walked inside.

I checked on Kayden first. He was fast asleep.

My stomach sunk in, and I feel dreadful thinking of the questions he is going to bombard on me with in the morning. I can avoid him by going to work earlier than usual. Or I pray he is mad at me to the point he wouldn't want to speak to me for a day.

My coward ass is scared of how I am going to explain to him why Brad and I broke up without painting Brad as a villain or me taking the fall.

Maybe I need to have a talk with Brad about how we are going to go about it.

That option is making my tummy cringe.

I made a stop at Alice's room. That cousin of mine is nocturnal. I am sure she is awake.

Before my brain could caution me about the uncomfortable questions Alice will rain on me about my date, I have already churned the doorknob open.
