Capítulo 29: Shogo

Raiden had entered the battlegrounds but this time with a metal bat in his hands. He had a dead serious look on his face as if he was mocking Shogo.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" One of the underlings of Shogo spoke up.

"What am I doing? Just playing around." His emotionless face showed pure evil at that time. Just by seeing his face, Shogo and his group could tell that he definitely was not playing around. He was dead serious. They could tell that he wouldn't even hesitate to hit one of them directly with that thick and big metal bat.

Sudden fear emerged inside Shogo's underlings after seeing Raiden standing there menacingly with a metal bat in his hand. They always used to gang up on Raiden as soon as he would arrive behind the storage building but this time they couldn't even move a muscle. The fear had frozen their every single moment. That emotionless face of Raiden felt like a true form of fear for them.

"Stop chickening out you guys!" Shogo called out for his group from behind. Even though his group was trembling in fear he had no effect whatsoever. He stood there calm and collected.

"But- but- he looks crazy, what if he actually hits us with that thing?" The guy from his group asked in fear.

"It doesn't matter," Shogo shouted. "He is still alone and there are four of you. Doesn't matter if he has a metal bat or something else. Go and attack him together, he can't hit all four of you together. Not go! Before I beat the crap out of you."

Those four boys were cornered between the layer of fear. On one side, it was the fear of Raiden and on other, it was the fear of Shogo.

But fear of Shogo made them move ahead.

"Yeah, he is alone. What can he even do?"

"Definitely, if we just attack him together he can't do shit."

"Yeah, no reason to fear him. We are in Shogo's group, we can take him out."

"Fuck yeah, he is no match for us."

Those four comforted their fear with those words. They all agreed there was no reason to fear Raiden. 'He is just alone,' was their reasoning.

With that conviction in their mind, they charged toward Raiden.

Raiden without flinching a single muscle, just glared at them as they approached him. They were all about to attack him at the same time.

Raiden tightened his grip on that metal bat and swung it with the entire force he had in his body.

Before the attack of those four guys could reach Raiden, his bat reached the skull of one of them.

With all his force he smacked that guy's head and pushed him down to the ground with his bat. That guy's head collided with the bat as well as the ground.

Raiden had struck down one of them with his metal bat.

The guy had laid down on the ground, unconscious.

Shogo's eyes widened seeing one of his underlings go down that easily.

The fear returned in the remaining three guys who stood so near to Raiden. They couldn't stop trembling seeing their friend on the ground and without moment whatsoever.

Raiden still held that metal bat tightly in his hand. And, he gave that evil look back. "Do you still wanna keep going?" He said not even worrying about the guy he had dropped down just now.

"M- M- Monster….. what the fuck is wrong with you? You are a monster.." said one of the three guys whose legs now had given up and he sat down on the ground, trembling, trying to get away from Raiden.

Raiden still had that cold look up on his face. He didn't even care to give that guy a response.

"You bastard! I will fucking kill you right now!!!!" One of the guy jumped toward Raiden. Seeing one of his friends falling, the anger had taken over him.

Raiden again swung the bat and this time it was to his stomach.

The hit landed perfectly and the guy dropped down. The fallen guy trembled in pain, coughing blood from his mouth.

The final guy standing had both a mixture of fear and anger. He didn't want to abandon his friends but he was afraid enough that he couldn't think of attacking Raiden.

He just stood still against Raiden doing nothing, neither fighting nor running.

Raiden punched him in the face and the guy dropped down, unconscious at the very instant.

Three were down and one ran away. Now only Shogo was left.

Raiden stood against Shogo face-to-face.

"Shogo, I will do anything to get what I want, even if it is to crush you," Raiden dropped his metal bat down and approached Shogo.

"Why did you drop your bat? You want to crush me right? Go ahead and do it with that bat of yours." Shogo had the same cold look one his face just like Raiden.

"Yeah! I will crush you but in a fair one-on-one duel."

Shogo smirked, "That's why you will lose Raiden, cause you can't put what you want over your pride."

Shogo came at him. Raiden got on his position too. They were about to clash with each other. That evening, behind the storage building of the high school, two fists were about to clash with each other. They both had the same terrible look on their face. They both had the same amount of anger for each other. Their fists, which had the same goal — Hatsuhi.

And, they clashed.

It was almost sunset. The sky was painted with a bright orange color. Raiden glared at that sky as he laid down behind the storage building. He was severely injured. More injured than he ever was.

A voice came from his behind. "I heard what happened here."

"Toshi...?" Raiden inquired in a faint voice.

"Yeah, you stupid."

Toshi sat down beside Raiden on the ground. He looked up and gave a big sign, "You certainly did a big thing this time."

"Oh..?"

"Tojima was hospitalized a few hours ago. He had an injury on his head and lost a lot of blood. Doctors are saying his condition is fine now but it could have been a serious issue."

"Oh? Am I responsible for that?"

"Of course you are! Listen Raiden, by now probably the whole school knows that you were the one who did it. Shogo declared it as a mere accident but all of the school has a pretty good idea. All these days they all knew what was going on behind the storage building. Things like these in the school spread like fire so there was no point in thinking that no one would know.

Right now you are out of this whole matter just because Shogo declared Tojima's injury as an accident. People deep down know that you were the reason for that injury but they can't speak that out loud because of Shogo's statement. So, it is also safe to think that Hatsuhi knows about the whole thing too."

"Oh, so she knows?"

"Probably…. Raiden, the thing is, people might treat you differently from now on because of this incident-"

"I don't care about people!" Raiden snapped out on Toshi. "All that matters to me is Hatsuhi. Shogo defeated me this time. But I won't let him have his way with Hatsuhi." Raiden said that with anger. The anger of losing the battle. After all he did, he still couldn't win. Raiden couldn't accept it.

Raiden couldn't let go of Hatsuhi that easily.
