Capítulo 3: Chapter 3: You're A Guy?
I pry my eyes open, I feel rumbling from beneath me, I feel the ground and it's cold. I look around, my eyes adjusting to the light. My eyes begin to dart around my surroundings, becoming slowly paranoid by the second.
"Yeah, yeah the vessel is secured," Says a short girl with long luscious black hair that flows down her back like a dark waterfall. She's perched casually, one leg propped up on a nearby seat.
"Dude, it's fine, he's out cold," she continues, nonchalantly. As she turns, the lime green light illuminates her face, revealing rosy cheeks dotted with a constellation of freckles and a pale complexion that seems to glow.
"Oh crap he's up," she draws her hand and a blue flame engulfs it. "Don't worry I'll take care of em'."
"Wait what the hell is going on," I jump up in a frenzy. Her expression shifts from annoyance to perturbation.
"What the hell? He knows Japanese," she exclaims and drops down to a defensive stance.
"I don't know Japanese– we're speaking English right now," I argue, my hands flailing around in fear.
"I'm not that dumb, I know my native language idiot," a blur quickly snatches her away from me. There appears a stocky boy precisely pinning the girl down with his foot in one swift move.
"You idiot, why the hell are you attacking the vessel," he holds her up by the collar. "Sorry for him, he isn't the brightest." My heart nearly skips a beat–him?
"You're a guy?" I exclaim, the stocky boy tries to cover his mouth. The feminine boy turns bright red and covers his face in shame.
"I thought the exact same thing the first time we met," now that he stands upright, he's fairly short especially in comparison to the stocky one.
"You actually hit on me you weirdo," The feminine boy pushes the short guy in embarrassment.
"Oh yeah– I did do that, didn't I?" He laughs and pulls him in for a hug. "That is pretty weird that you're speaking fluent Japanese, given that you lived in America your whole life." Again with this Japanese thing.
"I'm sorry but what is going on? What am I doing here? Who are you?" I start an endless spree of questions. The stocky boy shakes his head and hands, he has a reassuring smile etched onto his face.
"Just relax, I'm Daiki Kurogane and this is Shun Kitani," the feminine boy raises his hand and grins.
"And from the looks of it, you're familiar with our line of work," Kurogane folds his arms and smiles faintly.
"What do you mean?" Kurogane and Kitani exchange a look of perplexity, Kitani pulls out his phone and shows me a wasteland.
"You exercised every single curse in the city's perimeter," curse.
I should feel at least proud about this right? But I don't.
Kitani guides me over to the window of the aircraft we're in. Below, a sprawling shrine complex unfolds, with multiple smaller shrines nestled around a central structure. Waterfalls weave through them, each shrine connected by a stream, the ground adorned with a large, intricate symbol. Pink petals dance in the wind, creating a mesmerizing spectacle around the landing site.
"This is the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College," Kurogane announces proudly."Everyone else calls it Jujutsu High," Kitani rolls his eyes and pulls me in. My eyes still entranced with the marvelous beauty that shines below me.
"Wait till you see the inside," Kitani smiles and ducks off into another room of the aircraft.
I look out the window in complete silence, I watch the mountains that we looked down on begin to tower over the aircraft."Watch over me mom."
