"Thor, calm down."

"I know you don't want to believe it, but what I'm telling you is true."

As those thoughts flashed through his mind, Loki did not stop his smooth talk, continuing to seriously address Thor.

Unfortunately, Thor, who had started to doubt Loki, was not so easily convinced anymore.

"Really?"

As Thor spoke, he suddenly stood up, quickly grabbed a diary from the side, and slammed it down in front of Loki to confront him for a final confirmation.

???

Loki looked puzzled, wondering what Thor was doing with the object in his hand—what was the meaning behind this inexplicable action?

"Do you know what this is?"

Thor pointed at the diary, questioning Loki.

"A table? Thor, what are you doing?"

Loki looked at the table Thor was pointing at, thoroughly confused by Thor's actions.

"It's not the table, it's this... umph umph umph!"

Thor tried to tell Loki about the diary, but his throat was once again seized by a mysterious force, preventing him from speaking.

"Damn it!"

Thor angrily slapped the table.

What on earth was up with this cursed diary that couldn't be mentioned in front of anyone except for Nick Fury and a few others!

"It seems this matter has hit you hard. I think you need to rest for a bit."

After watching for a moment, Loki came to the conclusion that Thor was overwhelmed and not thinking clearly; otherwise, Loki couldn't make sense of Thor's baffling behavior.

"I don't need rest!"

"Loki, I need you to tell me if you are planning to kill me next?"

After his unsuccessful attempts, Thor had no choice but to drop the diary subject and instead asked another very important question. The question completely caught Loki off-guard.

Kill his foolish brother? Loki had certainly never planned that!

Loki's thoughts were simple: to have Thor live on Earth as a mere mortal forever, while he would rule Asgard and be a good son to Odin and Frigga. That was all.

Loki's expression was one of genuine surprise, not feigned.

"What? That's absurd, Thor! Why would you think that?"

Loki's brow furrowed slightly and he sensed something was amiss.

Was all of Thor's erratic and almost deranged behavior due to the massive shock from Odin's death?

Is that it?

It must be.

Although Loki subconsciously felt something was off, after careful thought, he didn't find any issues and chalked it up to Thor being overly distraught.

"Listen, Loki, I don't know what plans you have or what tricks you want to play."

"But I'll tell you this—I will return to Asgard!"

"I will verify for myself what exactly has happened in Asgard!"

Thor's voice rose with determination as he spoke to Loki.

But inside, Loki sneered.

Asgard was already under his control; Thor couldn't return without his command.

"This is hard to accept, and I wish I could help you, I truly do."

"But unfortunately, I cannot!"

"Farewell!"

After dropping this line, Loki didn't plan to waste any more time and vanished in an instant.

"No, Loki, wait!"

"Loki!"

Thor looked around and called out repeatedly, but the room was empty and silent, with no response.

Dejected, Thor saw that Loki was really gone.

Then Thor sat back down, looking at the diary once more, but now with a completely different perspective.

Loki's reaction had been precisely predicted by the diary!

Considering how Loki acted, it was evident that the diary wasn't likely his doing.

So, what was this diary?

If Loki's actions were foretold, would the Warriors Three and Destroyer also appear as predicted?

Moreover, would his father, mother, and Loki truly die?

Thor could no longer remain calm.

"I must go back!"

"No, I must return right away!"

Thor suddenly felt an urgent need he couldn't articulate.

He dared not delay any longer and immediately went to find Nick Fury, arriving at his hammer to make another attempt.

For Thor, the most critical thing now was to lift his hammer and return to Asgard!

Alas, it was still not to be.

After much effort, Thor was exhausted and all was in vain.

"Thor, we are leaving. You should come with us."

Nick Fury walked up to Thor, speaking seriously.

"Leaving?"

Thor immediately shook his head, "No, I won't go anywhere. I must stay by my hammer."

"You don't have to leave your hammer," Nick Fury explained. "New Mexico is a small town, but not small enough. We need to move to a location where the Destroyer can do less damage."

"Both your hammer and you will move with us."

Knowing New Mexico would be destroyed by the Destroyer and that Captain America could lift the hammer, Fury naturally made the necessary arrangements.

Before learning this information from Thor, Fury had already issued orders.

A secluded base, 21 kilometers away and in a desolate, uninhabited area, was already ready.

That was a more suitable battlefield, not New Mexico.

With the Quinjet, motorcades, and everything else ready, it was time to move.

Before Loki's arrival, Thor would have dismissed Fury's elaborate precautions over a seemingly insignificant diary as an overreaction.

But now, Thor could not afford to ignore the diary and its predictions.

As Thor himself, more than anyone, knew the power of the Destroyer.

If the Destroyer was sent down as recorded in the diary, leveling a small town would indeed be easy!

Without further question, Thor joined Fury and the others aboard the Quinjet.

They quickly headed toward the secret base.

"Thor?"

"The Thor from the myths?"

"Buddy, you must be crazy."

Inside the cabin, Fury formally revealed the identity of this "mysterious person" to the Avengers.

Indeed, everyone seated in the Quinjet was a member of the Avengers, and no irrelevant people were present.

The Red Guardian could not help but snicker after listening.

"Thor? That's just children's tales. How could they possibly be real?

Even if they are real, how could it be that a vagrant who constantly kneels on the ground?"

Hawkeye Barton took another look at Thor and felt extremely surprised by the revelation but did not doubt the words of his superior.

And this could also explain very well why the "vagrant" kept referring to himself as Thor.

"So, this hammer, is it the legendary Thor's hammer, Mjolnir?"

Hawkeye Barton suddenly realized as he glanced at the hammer on the ground again.

No wonder this hammer can summon thunder and lightning.

It's actually Mjolnir!

The only question was, why couldn't Thor lift his own hammer, but Captain America could?

However, that question was a bit too disheartening.

Considering the blows Thor had already endured, Hawkeye kept his mouth shut and pressed the question to his heart.

"Mjolnir?"

Captain America paused for a moment, then shook his head with a heartfelt exclamation, "I had hoped the world would get better, but it seems to be getting stranger instead."

Stranger?

This is nothing compared to what's revealed in the diary about the chaotic era of superheroes—it's just an appetizer.

The twenty kilometers to the Quinjet were not far, and everyone arrived without much delay.

"Commander, everything is ready."

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who had been ordered earlier, were waiting outside the base. They led the Avengers inside and helped everyone settle down as quickly as possible.

Whiplash's special ops squad and other covert forces also took positions, arming the S.H.I.E.L.D. base thoroughly.

On the surface, the base didn't look special, but in reality, Fury had made comprehensive preparations for the Destroyer's arrival.

"Rogers, I don't know how much time we have, but I hope you can familiarize yourself with the hammer as soon as possible."

"We may be facing an unprecedentedly tough battle."

And among all preparations, Fury was most concerned with Captain America, as Thor was the best weapon against the Destroyer.

"That thing you mentioned, is it really coming?"

Captain America still had some doubts.

It wasn't that he didn't believe Fury, but it felt far-fetched to believe that the enemy would come from Asgard.

"Trust me, Captain, I hope more than anyone that this isn't true," Nick Fury said meaningfully to Captain America.

Given the gravity with which Fury prepared, Captain America took his training with the hammer seriously, despite his initial hesitations.

Thor, having tried many times without success to lift Mjolnir, reluctantly allowed Captain America to wield it temporarily, preparing for the potential threat of the Destroyer.

With this tension looming, the S.H.I.E.L.D. base was filled with a sense of an impending storm.

For three days, a suffocating atmosphere had been building until it was finally shattered on the fourth day.

"Commander, we've spotted four oddly dressed individuals heading towards the base."

Nick Fury received a report from the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stationed outside, and they synced up the visual to the command room.

"It's them!"

"The Warriors Three and Sif!"

Upon rushing to the scene, Thor immediately recognized his friends and couldn't hide his excitement at seeing them after being exiled for so long.

But his joy was cut short as the diary's prophecy came to mind.

Had the diary been accurate up to now, and was every event detailed really going to happen?

Considering the diary's terrible predictions about himself, Thor dearly hoped not.

"Barton, Natasha, bring them here."

Nick Fury commanded his loyal subordinates, and Hawkeye and Black Widow immediately obeyed.

After about 20 minutes, they brought the Warriors Three and the valiant Sif before Thor.

"Thor, it is indeed you!"

"Haha, we've finally found you!" Volstagg heartily embraced him.

"Friends, it's so good to see you!"

Thor also showed a sincere smile.

"How's my father?"

After exchanging greetings, Thor immediately asked about his greatest concern.

"King Odin is fine," Sif explained to Thor. "Although he has entered the Odinsleep prematurely, he's in good condition."

As expected!

Thor's expression instantly turned serious and somber.

Loki, you've been deceiving me after all!

The prophecy in the diary had once again proven true, and Thor's heart grew heavier.

"Thor, what's wrong?"

Sif spoke up to console Thor. "Don't worry, we are here to take you back."

"Indeed, I should return."

Thor nodded emphatically.

Unfortunately, the circumstances didn't currently allow it.

"Commander, we've detected a massive energy anomaly. Something else is coming!"

With the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent's report, another visual was synced.

Everyone's attention was captured by what they saw—the image showed a massive silver monstrosity, the Destroyer.

Thor's pupils shrank; the prophecy was fulfilled.

"Is this the Destroyer?"

The Warriors Three and Sif were shocked as they could not understand why the Destroyer had come, especially considering Asgard's current state.

Only Loki could command the Destroyer, but for what nefarious purpose?

To kill them?

But surely, defying orders to come to Midgard wasn't a reason to send the Destroyer—a weapon used against enemies Asgard itself cannot face, meant to be deployed in dire times.

"Is this the threat we're up against?" Captain America said with gravity, and without another word, he beckoned the hammer.

Mjolnir flew to him, and Captain America gripped it firmly in his hand.

The Warriors Three and Sif were dumbfounded—how could this human, dressed so peculiarly, lift Thor's hammer?
