JAUNE ARC POV
"You know. When people talk about Mistral city, this isn't quite what comes to mind." Jaune said as he looked at the two giant mountains and the tens if not hundreds of thousands of houses located in those two mountains.
And the large monumental building stationed at the top between those two giant mountains.
It was both awe aspiring and magnificent.
"It's not that bad." Pyrrha groused.
"Hmm… oh! I never meant that it's bad. I was just saying that it's so… different from Vale. And in a good way." Though it still didn't compare to Atlas City which was located on top of a giant Floating mountain.
"It's okay if you don't like it Jaune. You don't have to lie for my sake." Pyrrha said and he could sense the sadness in her.
He rolled his eyes and pulled her in a side hug "I'm serious Pyrrha. It's a pretty amazing place."
Before Pyrrha could reply, he felt a poke on his side.
He turned to see Neo, Melanie, and Miltia looking at him with bored expressions.
"Jaune! We want to go shopping." Melanie said, "After that, we'll stay here for a day or two before leaving."
"I trust you can get back home safely on your own?" Miltia asked.
"Don't worry, I'll keep him safe," Pyrrha said and he simply stared at the byplay going around him.
These girls…
He loved them but they could be so overbearing when it came to his safety.
And that's after he managed to defeat Melanie though he had to admit that it was more because of luck than anything else.
Then the three girls went shopping and he was left alone with Pyrrha.
"Come Jaune, I'll show you around Mistral." She said as he hid her hair and face under a hood.
The problem with Pyrrha being in Mistral was that she was a huge celebrity here and if the people knew that she was here then they'll start crowding around her which… won't be pleasant.
She wanted to live her life as a normal person and not as Pyrrha Nikos the 'Invincible girl'. Though with how strong she had become at this point, she was pretty much invincible against everyone in the world aside from Salem and some of the strongest Grimm out there.
Despite that, if she wanted to live a normal life then he'll try his best to make that happen.
So he let her pull him around to the various shops as she showed him around the city.
And if he wasn't a hunter and had a superhuman physique then he would've died while climbing the mountain.
There were so many stairs here.
Why were there so many stairs? Couldn't these people have built an elevator for public use?
It didn't take long before they finally arrived in front of a house and he gave Pyrrha a confused glance until he noticed her avoiding her eyes.
He looked at the house and then at Pyrrha before it clicked.
"Pyrrha… did you bring me to your house?" he asked.
She gave him a nervous glance and nodded.
He stared at the house for another moment before he sighed "You could've given me an early warning at least."
"My parents aren't Grimm Jaune." Pyrrha said in a chastising voice though he could still feel embarrassment, uncertainty, and hope from her.
If he dove deeper into her mind then he'll be able to roughly understand what she was thinking but he didn't want to violate her privacy like that.
"You know what I mean Pyrrha." He said and then took a deep breath "Well, now that we're here, we might as well go in. Here's hoping that your father doesn't kill me."
"My father won't do that Jaune." Pyrrha said but with how nervous she sounded, it was clear that she didn't believe them herself.
They opened the gate and walked through the courtyard before finally arriving in front of the front door.
He took this chance to look around at the garden in Pyrrha's house.
The fact that Pyrrha's house had a garden in it when the whole city was built on a mountain and the land was at a premium made it clear to him that while she was not from an opulent family, like Weiss Schnee, her parents were at the very least at the top of the upper-middle-class society.
Pyrrha pressed the doorbell and they waited.
He felt nervous energy fill him as they waited until Pyrrha put a hand on his shoulder.
"You'll be alright Jaune." She probably sensed his nervousness through the Shroud, not that it wasn't clearly visible in his body language.
Still, her support helped.
He gave her a smile and calmed down a little as they heard footsteps coming from inside the house.
Then the door opened and he froze.
He had stopped watching the RWBY series after the fall of Beacon because of the depressing turn the series took and because of Pyrrha's unnecessary death.
But he did look up snippets and videos every now and then.
And there was one video that stuck with him.
A video where Jaune comes to Mistral with his team and sees the statue of Pyrrha Nikos, made in her memory.
There, he met a woman with red hair and green eyes. A woman talked with him about Pyrrha. A woman had the fanbase speculated was either Pyrrha's ghost or her mom.
He supposed that he now knew which one it was.
He looked at the woman who, if he was not here, would mourn the death of her child and nodded "Hello ma'am. I'm Jaune Arc."
