WEISS SCHNEE POV
Weiss sat in her private room in the airship and stared at the horizon where the sun had already set and had left a Red hue in its wake.
It was beautiful scenery but she was not in the mood to appreciate it.
She took a sip from the cup and remembered her meeting with her sister a few days ago.
Her sister had not been in a good mood because she had been assigned an important mission by General Ironwood himself and she had thoroughly failed the mission.
She didn't know if it was because of the frustration or if it was because her sister was slightly drunk but Winter had told her about her mission.
To find more about the Night Walkers.
A group of criminals consisting mostly of female members who had assassinated Councilwoman Rosa Fisher and had massacred a few Hunter Teams.
Except… even after searching every nook and cranny for a whole month, her sister has not succeeded in finding anything about that group.
It was one of the most important missions General Ironwood had ever given her and failing the mission in such a manner had sent her sister in a slight bout of depression.
So she had vowed to help her sister and see if she could find the Night Walkers.
Except… she had no idea where to even begin with this.
She had no investigative skills, no connections, no subordinates to help her, and no information.
She didn't even know what these Night Walkers looked like.
She had thought about asking her teammates for help but with the upcoming holidays, all of them would leave for their home so she didn't have that option either.
And then all of a sudden… Jaune had gathered her, Ruby, and Yang and had taken them through a Portal to a Pocket Dimension.
And… she became suspicious.
Her sister had compared the Night Walkers to ghosts who vanished from the crime scene without ever leaving any evidence.
No one knew how they did it.
But… what if the Night Walkers have a person capable of creating portals. Portals to a place that where they could go and hide until their next mission.
That would explain everything, won't it?
So she wanted to go and tell her sister about it after she learned more from Jaune.
Except…
Jaune somehow realized that she was lying and had Pyrrha escort her out of the portal.
And only once she was separated from them did she realize that in her quest to help her sister… she might have lost the trust and friendship of the only people whom she cared about aside from her sister.
And that… left her conflicted.
The worst part of it was that she was not even sure if Jaune had connections to the Night Walkers. Only that he had the ability to create portals to an unknown place.
If she turned out to be wrong then…
She clutched a pillow to her chest and curled up on the seat as tears formed in her eyes.
In order to help her sister, she had alienated all her friends and she didn't know how to fix this.
She didn't even know how to face them. Not after she had lied to them to their faces after Jaune place his trust in her.
She decided that she would start but not telling any of this to her sister.
Maybe when they meet once again after two weeks, they would be more willing to forgive her?
And if they accepted her in their group then she would never betray them.
Even if… even if Jaune and Pyrrha were a part of the Night Walkers.
After all, the only thing she knew about that group was what her sister had told her. And basing her opinions on a group based on a single person's testimony was not a smart thing to do.
