In the domain of Land of Fire.
The sky was clear as the sun shone brightly; freely floating clouds sometimes blocked the sunlight.
A group of people could be seen passing through the forest, with a palanquin in the middle, carried by four servants along with ten guards on all sides.
Leading them, were two figures; one had spiky silver hair with a half-mask on his face and the other had long black hair with a calm expression on his sharp face.
Following Izuna and Kakashi, were Hizashi and Mugino at the back, keeping an eye from behind.
It's been three days since Team Hizashi left Tanzuka Town for the Land of Tea, and were nearing the border, where the chances to attempt assassination were very high.
"We are nearing the valley; an ambush could possibly be waiting for us there!"
"Keep your guards up, Kakashi."
"Un."
Izuna, moving at a breakneck speed suddenly stopped as the view of a valley came into his vision.
Following him at a distance stood Kakashi, who noted his warning nodded as Izuna disappeared with an afterimage.
Kakashi still unable to catch even his afterimage facepalmed himself, and sighed, as he moved forward.
In the past three days, they didn't encounter any danger or ambush, so it was most likely that if they were to encounter any ambush, then it'd be the valley up ahead.
'Huh?'
Suddenly a bad premonition of danger emerged in Izuna, halting his steps he took a cold breath; an invisible pulse of Chakra emerged from him, spreading across the area of 200 meters.
'Superior Sense!'
It didn't take even a single moment to outspread his senses, which caused him to be aware of every minute detail within this field; using it he can read the opponent's aura and chakra signatures.
"Oh, I have got a bad feeling about this!"
He became aware of his surroundings as he noticed multiple Chakra signatures hidden in the valley, waiting for the ambush.
Not just their exact location but also their strength can't be hidden from Izuna once he spread his senses.
"Is something wrong?"
Finally catching up to Izuna, Kakashi inquired as he noticed the frown on his face, who didn't respond to him but kept looking at the valley before him with his sharp black eyes.
'What is he thinking...is there an enemy?'
Since their first meeting Izuna's calm demeanor naturally pulled Kakashi in; naturally accepting and following his commands.
His thoughts ran, and reaching a conclusion he became on guard and pulled out the White Light Chakra Sabre from his back.
When Izuna observed the Chakra signatures within his "Superior Sense", he knew that things would now escalate differently from now on.
"Hm?"
Hizashi, who noticed Izuna and Kakashi suddenly halt, concluded something must be wrong and activated his Byakugan; his pupils became distinct and veins near his temples bulged.
In an instant, a vast area covering the entire valley along with the forest in the surrounding became distinct in his vision, as a frown appeared on his face noticing the extent of the enemies' chakra signatures.
"Be careful everyone, we are surrounded!"
After reminding everyone to be on guard, he disappeared without a trace and appeared next to Izuna and Kakashi.
Swoosh...
"Tch. I thought I could get you, but it shouldn't come as a surprise considering your eyes!"
"Hehe... Well lucky for me... I'd be getting a bounty placed on your head."
"Killing two birds with one stone, don't you think so too... Hizashi Hyuga?"
Izuna and the others heard a sardonic voice as ten figures appeared from the ground, followed by the owner of the voice distinguished by his spiky brown hair and green eyes, along with a sickening expression on his face.
The master of the voice was a rouge Shinobi from the Stone Village, who along with his subordinates were hired for the assassination.
"This... This is going to be a tough fight."
Izuna as he recognized the enemy at a glance, but a calm smile was visible on his face.
"Do you know about him, Izuna?"
"Yes, I've heard of him... He is Gari of the Explosion Style!"
"Hmm~"
Izuna replied casually with a calm smile on his face, staring at the enemies upfront. The Interest as well as a tint of worry in Kakashi's eyes increased hearing his words.
"Oh, looks like I'm quite famous, aren't I? Haha!!"
"Well enough of the sweet talks... Now do me a favor and die!"
With menacing laughter, Gari disappeared from his spot, leaving a burst of white smoke.
Gari can use Explosion Style, a Kekkei Genkai which allows him to combine Earth and Lightning Chakra natures to utilize explosive Chakra.
He used to belong to the explosion corps of the Stone Village directly under the control of Tsuchikage, but after his defection, he began offering services as a bomber and assassin to various countries.

"Boss, let me take care of that Uchiha kid. It'd be fun tormenting an Uchiha; I've never tasted their blood!"
Said a man with an average build and face filled with scars as he unsheathed his blade, licking its sharp ends.
"Do whatever you want..."
"Boom!"
Saying so, Gari disappeared from his spot, completely destroying the tree he was standing on along with the area around him, as an explosion occurred from the palm of his hands. He danced up into the air as he sped up towards Team Hizashi.
"I know this is hard, but I've no choice... I'll leave it to you three!"
"Un."
Hizashi, being a Taijutsu master himself, went ahead to face Gari, who was adept in Taijutsu combined with his Kekkei Genkai; making him a tough opponent.
"Mugino, use your Earth-style to create earth walls and protect the client... And all of you guards; I don't have to tell you what you have to do, do I?"
"All right, leave it to us!"
Izuna instructed everyone to follow his simple plan without looking back; everyone naturally felt like following him and expressed determination to fight hard.
"Kakashi... take care of the right, I'll take care of the left!"
'Sigh...I guess. I don't have a choice, do I?'
"All right!"
Izuna gently touched the blade on his lower back, as he ordered Kakashi, who just sighed, but nodded in understanding.
This was supposed to be a simple B rank mission, but the engagement of an S rank Shinobi, with a Kekkei Genkai no less, incremented its danger.
"Zzzzz!!"
Izuna remained silent, as he drew his sword and guided the Chakra in his body; blue lightning appeared as it began to extend upward from the tip.
Soon the half-meter blade became a meter-long lightning blade as the crackling sound of lightning spread all around.
"What a strong lightning style jutsu_ ?!"
Kakashi's face probably spoke it all looking at the trail of lighting Izuna left as he disappeared like a cannonball and appeared before the astonished enemies, the next moment.
He was at his fastest unlike the time during his journey, so Kakashi couldn't even complete his sentence as he only saw a trail of lightning.
"Heh heh...that brat is mi-- Eh?"
Three heads flew with astonishment being reflected in their widened eyes. All of this happened within seconds and they couldn't understand what even happened to them.
