Roman desperately hoped his latest plan would work since the first one obviously hadn't been enough. If not, they were going to become homeless rather quickly.
He also hoped Penny hadn't realized that the bag he had this morning consisted entirely of low-quality granola bars and instant meals in microwaveable Styrofoam cups. Cheap food got old really fast so they had been trying to rotate through their options all this time, though there weren't many.
He missed being able to go out to eat whenever he wanted. He missed his house too even though it always felt empty. Big and empty would be better than small and with no privacy from Percy. He wasn't the best company.
Roman hadn't interacted with him much in his own timeline but he got the feeling that time had hardened him. He didn't seem like the same person Penny used to talk about aside from being a science geek.
