Capítulo 26: Let's Raid The Ruins
In the Kingdom of Arcadia, Alex could be seen poring over some important documents related to the kingdom. After finishing reading the documents, he couldn't help but sigh with relief as he realized that the kingdom of Arcadia was finally on the right track.
It had been a challenging month since Alex founded the Kingdom of Arcadia, as they faced various problems like food shortage, financial crisis, etc. However, Alex and his team handled them with ease, arranging everything in order to control the situations.
Thanks to their efforts, slavery was abolished from Sandora, and the system of nobles was replaced by a proper administration based on the governments of Alex's previous life. Although it took time for the people to adjust to the new system, they were able to adapt within the month, and the whole of Arcadia was in a state of celebration every day.
"...the royal treasury has helped us a lot, but we need to find an alternative to replace the economy that Sandora gained from slavery," remarked Julian, who was now the finance minister of Arcadia, as he thought about the state of the kingdom's finances thoughtfully.
"You don't have to worry about that, Julian. I have my own plans for it. How is the construction of all the facilities going that I asked you to build?" replied Alex.
"They are going fine, sir, and by the end of the week, all of those facilities will be ready," answered Julian.
"Good, so we just have to wait for them to be completely built."
"Sir, we also need to do something about the city's construction. The former kings of Sandora and nobles didn't pay much attention to it, and it's all a mess now. There is no proper transportation system established nor proper roads. We need to put proper thought into its construction," said Kael.
"Hmm, you are right there, Kael. I will ponder about this," replied Alex, ending the meeting shortly after.
Afterward, Alex stretched his limbs for a bit, and Lexi approached him to massage his shoulders.
"Tired?" she asked.
"Yup, dealing with all these paperwork was really troublesome, thankfully after this the council would be responsible for all of it. Now, I can finally take a proper break," replied Alex.
"Break? So you are finally leaving for finding other ruins of Babylon?" asked Lexi.
Alex had received reports from the heavenly beasts for the past month who had discovered some more ruins similar to what Alex was looking for.
Alex who was busy dealing with the country's affairs didn't find time to visit those ruins as it was a crucial period for everyone in Arcadia but now that he had finished the paperwork and everything about the country's administration is properly in the hands of the council he can now take a break and visit them all.
"Yup, they are important for us afterall."
"But don't overwork yourself," said Lexi, worriedly.
"Don't worry, I won't," assured Alex.
Alex teleported to the workshop where all the heavenly beasts were waiting for him to hear their reports.
Ember was the first to report. She had discovered a ruin on a barren island to the west of Arcadia and another ruin in the kingdom of Lestia.
Bianca reported that she had discovered a ruin in the kingdom of Elfrau. Blake and Kelly reported that they had discovered some ruins in Eashen and Regulus.
Alex calmly listened to their reports and couldn't help but grin, as they had found all the ruins of Babylon, with the exception of the research lab, whose location was already known to Alex.
"Oh, sir, you are here?" Rosetta interrupted.
Alex asked her if there was anything she needed. He knew that Rosetta was a shut-in who only left the workshop when she needed something from him.
"No, sir. I was just going to visit you. The production lines for all the artifacts you mentioned are completed," Rosetta said.
The artifacts that Rosetta was referring to were the items that Alex had replicated from his previous world, as well as some that he had researched himself to sell to civilians.
Currently, Arcadia's finances depended on the assets of the previous royal family, who had saved billions of royal coins, making their economic ranking second in the world, with the first position held by Yulong.
Alex was not surprised by this fact, as the royal family had used slaves for free labor and had leeched the people of Sandora for centuries.
For a properly functioning nation, this was not a good thing, but there weren't any good businesses to take the place of slave trading. So, Alex came up with an idea to open his own company in this world.
The company would be owned by Alex, but the name of the royal family of Arcadia would be attached to it. The company would mass-produce the artifacts and some services from his old world and distribute them throughout the entire world.
The company would not only generate profits for Alex but also create employment in Arcadia, which was essential for the people of Arcadia, as most of the former slaves were now unemployed and living on the resources provided by Alex.
Alex planned to divide the shares of the company so that a hefty amount of profit generated by the company would also go to the royal treasury, reducing the stress on it.
"Oh, are they? Well, teleport them to the castle and tell Lexi about them. She knows what to do with them," Alex said.
"Yes, sir!" Rosetta gave her snappy salute and left the workshop, while Alex got ready to raid all of the ruins of Babylon.
