Capítulo 33: Horned Green Python King

"Hmm, what a truly beautiful view," Alex muttered, marveling at the surrounding forest in all directions.

"It truly is, my lord," Ember replied, perched on Alex's shoulders.

Alex was currently traveling to Lestia atop Celeste, who was concealed by an invisibility spell.

Although teleporting to the ruins of Lestia would have been easier, he found the idea too monotonous. Besides, he wanted to travel alongside his beasts and give them a proper break while visiting the ruins.

It had been a day since Alex had brought Tsubaki to Arcadia.

Tsubaki was shocked to discover that Alex was not just any monarch but the king of Arcadia, whose stories of rebellion had reached the ears of people around the world. The news spread quickly through the Tracebooks guilds, and Alex was revered as a great man who had ended the tyranny of the slave king and abolished the system of slavery.

Alex assigned Tsubaki a training regimen he had created to improve her skills and physical fitness. He also informed her about her future duties as the head of the King's Guards, a specialized unit that served only the king.

This was a significant responsibility for Tsubaki, but as a trained ninja, she managed to maintain her composure and accepted her duties.

Alex introduced Tsubaki to the others, which didn't end well, as Lexi assumed that he had found himself another girl. It took some effort for Alex to clear up the misunderstanding.

But having Tsubaki as another wife wouldn't be so bad, Alex speculated.

After resting for a while and getting a good night's sleep, Alex woke up and entered the Workshop of Babylon, which had successfully docked with others. He left with his summoned beasts to retrieve another ruin located in Lestia.

Since Celeste was the largest of all the heavenly beasts, it was decided that she would carry everyone.

The journey was peaceful as Celeste flew over the sea connecting the Sea of Trees, Arcadia, Ryle, and finally reached Lestia after a few hours of travel.

"Look over there, my liege," Bianca suddenly said, pointing in a particular direction.

Alex and the others followed her gaze and saw a group of knights wearing armor fighting against a large creature in the middle of the forest.

The creature was green in colour blending berfectly with the surrounding forest and had a dragon type head but with round eyes instead of vertical slitted pupils with three large horns protruding from its head.

"...Those crests belong to Lestia's knight division, but what are they fighting against? A dragon?" Alex pondered.

"No, it's not a dragon, master," Erica interjected, observing the serpentine creature. "Yesss, that'sssss not a dragon. It'sss a giant hhhorned green pythhon king. hisss"

"Indeed, it's a horned green python king, but it's still young and has grown abnormally large due to some mutation," Blake and Kelly commented, introducing Alex to the creature.

The Horned Green Python King was a snake-type monster found in dense forests and was known to be very difficult to deal with.

Observing the battlefield, Alex reflected on his adventurer's career. Despite becoming a renowned monarch, he was still a green-ranking adventurer and needed to take on tasks to rank up.

After gathering the babylons from today's ruin, he decided to go on a hunting spree and rank up as quickly as possible.

"But why are the Lestian knights fighting them?" Alex questioned. Knights usually didn't venture deep into the forest to fight monsters unless the creatures posed a threat to human settlements under their jurisdiction.

"Shall we help them, my liege?" Bianca asked, her eyes fixed on the battle.

The knights were clearly at a disadvantage, and if they didn't intervene, they might perish.

"Shall we assist them?" Alex pondered, not typically inclined to lend a helping hand. However, considering the opportunity to rescue them and the potential rewards, he saw no harm in extending his aid. Of course, he wouldn't render assistance without compensation; he intended to demand the monster's carcass in exchange. Presenting it to the guild could earn him a substantial amount of experience points, bringing him closer to ranking up.

"Well, if we're going to help, who will confront that snake?" Alex inquired, glancing at his celestial beasts.

While he could handle the monster himself, he believed it would be beneficial to give his beasts some opportunities to fight.

"I prefer not to engage in combat at the moment," Ember stated, as fighting wasn't her preference.

"It's too feeble for me to bother fighting," Erica chimed in, expressing her lack of interest and reclining gently on Alex's lap, where he cradled a miniature version of Bianca.

"My lord, shall I take on this monster?" Bianca asked.

"Very well, Bianca. Go ahead," Alex nodded, and Bianca leaped from Celeste's back, returning to her original size. She landed in the middle of the forest, amidst the knights and the monster.

"ROAR!" The colossal white tiger released a bone-chilling roar, causing both the monster and the knights to tremble in fear.

Bianca, the majestic white tiger, stood poised in the middle of the forest, her piercing gaze fixed on the enormous green python.

The snake, with three menacing horns protruding from its head, hissed at Bianca not fearing anymore and coiled its massive body, ready to strike. transfixed on the impending battle.

With a swift motion, the python lunged at Bianca, its jaws gaping wide, revealing rows of razor-sharp fangs. Bianca, displaying her agility and grace, evaded the snake's attack with a graceful leap to the side. Her fur stood on end as she gathered her strength, preparing to unleash her power.

Undeterred by her initial evasion, the green python slithered toward Bianca once more, its speed and size giving it an advantage. But Bianca, a master of her craft, moved with unparalleled finesse. With lightning-fast reflexes, she maneuvered around the python's strikes, evading each attempt to constrict her within its deadly coils.

Sensing an opportunity, Bianca leaped high into the air, her powerful muscles propelling her above the python's reach. As she descended, she brought her forepaws down upon the serpent's back, claws fully extended. The impact resounded through the forest, leaving the knights in awe of her prowess.

Roaring triumphantly, Bianca unleashed a barrage of swift and precise strikes, each claw finding its mark on the python's scaly hide. Her ferocity knew no bounds as she tore through the serpent's defenses, leaving deep gashes in its flesh. The python writhed and thrashed, attempting to free itself from Bianca's relentless assault, but her grip remained unyielding.

With one final mighty swipe of her paw, Bianca struck the decisive blow. Her claws sliced through the python's throat, severing vital arteries. The green behemoth convulsed and spasmed, its eyes growing dim as its life force drained away. In a last feeble attempt to resist, the python thrashed wildly, but it was no match for the white tiger's superior strength and skill.

As the snake finally succumbed to its wounds, Bianca stood triumphantly over her fallen adversary. The forest erupted in applause and cheers as the knights and onlookers marveled at her victory.

"That was a wonderful fight" Alex commented looking at Bianca's performance.

"Indeed it was" Ember commented as others looked at Bianca's battle.

"If she can't even take over a snake like that she won't be worthy of becoming one of the heavenly beasts" Kelly said as she looked over at the white tiger.

"Indeed, unlike Celeste and me who are dragons and blessed with unparalleled strength or Ember who is blessed with unremarkable control over her spiritual energy, Bianca doesn't have much of advantages but then also.... her skills are remarkable making her a formidable opponent" Erica said.

She also admitted that Bianca was indeed worthy of her title which was rare for her as she is the one who bickers the most with Bianca along with Celeste.

The anime never did justice with white monarch. In the anime, Touya along with her had a bit of a hard time dealing with a young dragons who could be easily incinerated with one breath of Celeste where both Celeste and Bianca goes toe to toe with one another.

Capítulo 34: Crown Prince Of Lestia

Meanwhile, in Eashen...

"What's going on?" asked a seemingly ordinary teenage boy, his gaze fixed on two men seated before him.

Meet Mochizuki Touya, a divine mishap who now finds himself engaged to the princess of Belfast.

After losing a verbal showdown with Leen, the matriarch of the Fairies, Touya reluctantly teleported her to the country of Eashen to satisfy her curiosity in researching the ruins of Nirya.

With the aid of Yae's memories, he successfully transported them all to Oeda. After teleporting to Oeda they encountered Yae's mother and Akane, who informed them of the ongoing war between the Takeda and Tokugawa clans, in which Yae's father and brother were supporting Tokugawa Ieyashu in defending the hill fortress.

Upon arriving, they discovered no sign of a battle as it had already concluded. The soldiers of the Tokugawa clan were now cleaning the battlefield, tending to the wounded and collecting equipment and armor left behind by the defeated mask soldiers.

"Well, we're just as clueless as you are... Just a day ago, we were risking our lives battling a group of masked soldiers. But in the blink of an eye, they all turned to dust, leaving only their equipment and armor behind," Kokonoe Jubei explained, furrowing his brow.

"I must say, though... The masked soldiers, this invasion in general... it all feels rather perplexing. Schingen-dono, the Lord of Takeda, is known as the esteemed leader of the four great military commanders, 'Takeda's Elite Four.' However, this battle felt uncharacteristic of him. Perhaps the rumors hold some truth after all..." Ieyashu interjected, his expression troubled.

"Rumors?" Touya inquired.

"There are whispers that Schingen-dono may have already passed away. It is said that a dark strategist named Yamamoto Kansukay has taken control of his body, using the shell of their Lord to lead the Takeda armies as if they were his own," explained Ieyashu.

"Yamamoto Kansukay..." Leen chimed in. "Considering the existence of the masked soldiers, that theory doesn't seem far-fetched. It's possible he possesses a spell or artifact capable of controlling corpses."

"However, if the masked soldiers turned to dust, it's highly likely that the spell used on them was canceled. This could be due to the death of the caster or the destruction of the artifact," Leen analyzed, contemplating the situation.

"Does that mean the situation in Takeda's territory has already been resolved?" Touya asked.

"It's very likely or perhaps the caster has depleted their energy, rendering the artifact ineffective," Leen replied.

Leen's words furrowed everyone's brows because if her theory held true, the situation could take a dangerous turn.

While Touya and his companions had obtained the location of the ruins from Tokugawa Ieyashu, they decided to put their little adventure on hold and assist the Tokugawa clan, planning to infiltrate Tsutsujigasaki under the cover of night.

"Thank you for your assistance, Adventurer. Allow me to properly introduce myself. I am Reinhard Yunas Lestia, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Lestia," said the golden-haired prince, bowing slightly to Alex, who was taken aback by the revelation of the prince's identity.

For a brief moment, Alex entertained the idea that the person before him might be impersonating the crown prince, but it seemed unlikely that any knight would be foolish enough to attempt such a deception.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Prince Reinhard. I am Alexander Crown, the King of the Kingdom of Arcadia," Alex introduced himself as the monarch of Arcadia, extending his hand to shake the prince's. Prince Reinhard's eyes widened upon hearing Alex's introduction.

"King of Arcadia?" the prince repeated, studying Alex carefully. One might suspect that Alex was jesting about his own identity and impersonating the king himself, which was a serious crime. However, since Alex's portrait, depicting his exploits in Sandora, had been widely circulated throughout the world, Reinhard was able to recognize him.

"What are the chances of the king and the prince of two nations meeting in the middle of a forest? I apologize, King of Arcadia, for presenting myself in such a disheveled manner," Prince Reinhard remarked, expressing his embarrassment.

"Do not concern yourself with it, Prince Reinhard. However, if I may inquire, what brings you to this forest, engaged in a battle with the Python King?" Alex asked, genuinely curious about the prince's circumstances.

"Ah, about that... We received news from a merchant who claimed to have witnessed a large green dragon in the heart of the forest. Eager to slay the dragon, I led a legion of knights here to hunt it down. Unfortunately, it appears the merchant mistook this Python King for a dragon," Prince Reinhard explained.

"You wished to slay a dragon? May I ask why?" Alex inquired, his curiosity piqued by the crown prince's desire. Suddenly, he recalled a certain event from the novel he had read.

Reinhard's grandfather, the previous king of Lestia, was a renowned adventurer with a prestigious title as a dragon slayer. Moreover, Reinhard's father, the current king of Lestia, was also an adventurer in his prime and earned the title of Griffon Slayer by defeating a powerful Griffon. Naturally, Reinhard aspired to follow in their footsteps, desiring to defeat formidable beasts and earn a title for himself.

While searching for reports of dragon sightings, Reinhard heard a rumor about a dragon spotted in the forest. However, this information turned out to be inaccurate, as the merchant who spread the news had mistaken the giant python, which bore a resemblance to a dragon, for an actual dragon.

The crown prince also inquired about Alex's visit to Lestia, to which he just lied telling the prince that he had taken up on a quest which required him to travel to Lestia, with the aim of advancing his rank in the Adventurers' Guild.

Reinhard and Alex soon became friends, parting ways after a while. Before they bid farewell, Reinhard extended an invitation to Alex, inviting him to visit the royal castle of Lestia in the near future. As a token of gratitude for saving his life and those of his knights, Reinhard presented Alex with the carcass of the Python King as a gift.
