Capítulo 247: Worlds Apart

The princess didn't like Ian's arrogant face but she wasn't in any position to deny him when he had caught her with eyes swollen and tears on her face. 

"Thank you, my lord," she said gently and began to delicately wipe away the evidence of crying on her face. 

All they had were titles between them. She didn't know why he was insistent on coming outside and forcing her to wear her heart on her sleeve when it was the last thing she wanted to do. 

"What's the matter, your highness?" he asked. 

His voice sounded warm but his smile didn't reach his eyes. There was something possessive and entitled about the way he held himself. She could never get fully comfortable around men like that. 

The princess looked away from him and her gaze fell to the ground. 

"It's something personal," she said. "If I think about it for too long, I'm going to cry again."
