Capítulo 122: No Promises

Commander Lothian didn't like the way that Henry showed up to dinner as if nothing had happened. There wasn't a change in his appearance nor his demeanor or usual temperament.

The commander wanted the younger knight to be angry or sad. He didn't like the way he was putting off his feelings so he could use them in the future to punish himself.

He realized he was going to have to monitor how Henry was doing during practices and watch for signs that he was overworking himself or going unnecessarily hard on himself.

At dinner, the commander gathered the knights and explained to them the situation regarding the jousting competition the next day.

"Everyone who participated in the practices today are going to be facing the knight they were paired with during the sparring sessions," the commander explained. "The rest of you are allowed to visit the arena and watch from the stands. Make sure your armor and weaponry are ready for tomorrow after we finish our meal."
