The sun had gone down revealing the beautifully clear starry sky. The town below was bustling with people due to the full moon which in this world happens every 50 years. The bars were packed with retired and active military members and the music from said bars could be heard from the orphanage.
" What th-the hell are you...Argh...Talking about."
" You know exactly what I mean. The king is a-"
" The both of you shut up...Gahh. Were hear."
From inside the orphanage, Tsucko could hear three clearly drunk men approaching. Their steps were staggered and their voices were loud even though they were trying to be quiet. A knocking on the door startled Nun Zasha who jumped from her chair to her feet.
"Creek." She cracked the door open to find three military-outfitted men with their robes half off and their clothes wrinkled and covered in mud.
" Uh...How may I help you-"
" Were here to adopt." The one leading the group spoke. He had a thick beard and breath that smelled of alcohol. . .Though much different now Nun Zasha could recognize him as the man who adopted Caldo all those years back.
" Uh, I'm so sorry but we really-"
" Move lady!" The man standing next to the leader barged through. He had slick red hair that extended a little past his shoulders. He staggered into the building using the wall for balance as he took a look around. " Where the hell are all the ki--kids!?"
The two other men followed him with the bearded one walking further into the building towards the library. The third one didn't seem as enthusiastic about this as the rest as he waited by the door. However, he also had to use the wall for balance.
" I'm sorry." Nun Zasha walked in between the bearded one and the long-haired one. " All of the children have already been adopted. You'll have to wait for the next group whenever they arrive."
" Bullshit! I'm looking at one right now."
'" Huh?"
The bearded one exited the library and looked into the commons area. Sitting in a chair with a book in hand was a boy with long blond hair that extended past his shoulder. He looked older than any kid he had ever seen at this orphanage.
" Wait," He measured his mana, and then remembered when he came here to adopt the other kid, he sensed someone just like this kid. A pathetic amount of mana ran through his veins and wasn't worth a dam. " Don't bother, his mana is less than a pig's ass.!"
" HA HA HA HA HA!"
The two broke into a laugh while the third simply concentrated on standing straight. The blond-haired boy looked through the long bangs of his hair with one ice-cold blue eye meeting their eyes.
" HA Ha H- Uh? What you looking at useless trash!" The bearded man shouted while the long-haired continued laughing uncontrollably.
" FWUMP!"
The boy closed the book violently and stood up forcefully causing the chair to slide back with a screech against the wood floor. He turned to face the two men standing in the hallway between the main entrance and the library.
" Huh?"
His cold-blue eyes caused the bearded one to tense up and the second quickly stopped laughing as the stare shook his soul. However, the smile on the bearded one's face reappeared after he re-measured his mana which acted as a way to boost his confidence.
" Ha! What are you going to do? Useless child." The long-haired one looked at him with fearful eyes. The feeling he was getting from this boy was making him uneasy, but seeing the smile plastered across his bearded face reassured him.
" Y-Yea. With such little mana, there is nothing a kid like you can do!"
" I'm not a kid."
The boy suddenly spoke. His voice was deep and commanding. In their drunken state, the voice echoed through their mind startling them causing them both to take a step back. The third stood watching from the entrance but he couldn't see from where he was standing since there was a wall leading to the commons. All that was visible was his fellow soldiers taking steps back.
" Guys what's going o-on!"
"Today is my birthday." The deep voice echoed from the room down the hall causing the third to put his back against the door and hand on the doorknob.
The boy began to take steps toward the soldiers. Each step sounded like thunder as his leather boots marched against the wood floor. Nun Zasha quickly placed herself in between him and the soldiers as she feard the direction this was heading.
" Tsucko! Calm down what are you thinking?"
" No, let him!" The bearded soldier marched into the commons as he regained his confidence leaving the long-haired one in the hall. " How old are you!?" He ripped off his cloak and tossed it to the floor. " I'll give you your birthday spankings... Since it's your birthday and all, and maybe a little extra for being disrespectful."
Tscuko stopped, leaving about 6 feet between them. His arms were at his side when he turned his palms to face the man. A wind seemed to summon from Tsucko's feet causing the man to widen his eyes.
[ "Is that wind magic? No, he wouldn't have enough mana to pull off that...UH!"] He finally realized what he was looking at, and how wrong he was about the boy as he saw a faint yellow tint surrounding the boy. [ "Mana!? That is the only thing that could possess color like that! But how? I measured his mana multiple times, and...He's been suppressing it! This much mana!]
" I'm eighteen."
" Huh?"
" FWUU!"
A gust of wind flew past Nun Zasha causing her to fall hard to the floor.
" CRAASH!"
The building shook as Tsucko dashed at the bearded man and placed his hand across his face. Then slamming him into the ground with tremendous force. causing wood chips to go flying making the long-haired one shield his face with his arms.
When he removed his arms from in front of his eyes he saw the blonde hair of the boy waving due to the tremendous speed of the attack. His eyes widened as he saw his friend's face in the palm of his hand pushed into the wood floor.
" Shit! Dam you!"
" SHING!"
His long red hair waved as he summoned his blade to his right hand while taking two steps to close the distance. he brought his blade up by his head while Tsucko still had his hand on his friend's face and performed a drunken swing downward toward Tsucko.
" SWIPE"
Tsucko countered by spinning around the attack to the back of the soldier. " SHWING!" A flash of yellow light filled the room as he summoned a dagger in his right hand and plunged it into the back of the said soldier's neck.
Tsucko de-summened the blade as the soldier fell grasping at the back of his neck in an attempt to stop the bleeding out of desperation.
" LAUL!"
" Hu![ Your still able to stand?"]
The bearded man had reached his feet but quickly fell to one knee. He looked at his friend lying in a pool of blood on the hardwood causing anger to rise within him.
" I'll Kill YOU!"
A bright blue ball began to grow in his hand which Tsucko recognized as basic attack magic, but with so much mana poured into it, If it landed it would kill him.
" AHHH!"
The man screamed out of rage as he fired. The room became blindingly blue making it hard for him to see, but eyesight wasn't needed when you can sense and track mana.
" BANGSHH!"
The attack shot past Tsucko who simply leaned to the right as the attack wasn't dead on making it easy for Tsucko to avoid.
" You know it's illegal to use magic when intoxicated."
" Huh!
The soldier's eyes widened as he saw a yellow strand of wire at the tip of Tsuckos pointer finger. Mana wire!
" No!"
Tsucko sent the strand of wire at the soldier, using his finger he bent it around his neck wrapping it back around allowing Tsucko to catch it with his opposite hand.
" P-PLEASE!"
" Shink."
Tsucko pulled the wire across each other forming an X shape. Causing the wire to tighten like when tying a not around the man's neck...Nun Zasha watched terrified as a head went rolling across her floor.
"You're crazy!"
The third soldier twisted the door knob and flung the door open. He saw Tsucko's blue eyes staring at him as he attempted to leave the orphanage.
" SHINK!"
" GAH!"
An object blocked his exit, a tall object holding a sword. The third soldier looked up to be met with blood red eyes of a killer. He had black hair that was tied up into a bun and his bangs held out of his eyes with a clip with only a couple strands of hair running down the side of his face.
" U-UHH!"
The soldier dropped to his knees clinging to the black shirt of his killer until he could no longer feel or hear anything, then falling lifelessly to the ground.
" You remembered." Tsucko began to speak to this tall figure. " Kalci." A smile crossed his face as he looked at the ally he obtained years ago. He had turned eighteen the year before so he didn't know if he would remember their plan or if he would bother going through with it, but all his worries were gone now.
" Seems you've had an eventful night!" His voice was calm and slick. To Tsucko it reminded him of the voice actors that always played the cool collected character.
" Yeah, these guys weren't a part of the plan." Tsucko walked over to Kalci who stood slightly taller than him. His outfit was comprised of a black long-sleeve shirt and grey training pants. He also had a white checkered coat hanging off his shoulders.
" Well, shall we get started?" Tsucko motioned out the door.
" Yeah."
" What have you done!"
Nun Zaha inturuppted them. She was looking at a horrific scene in what was practically her own house. Blood stained the floors as the two kids she raised for eighteen years had abruptly become murderers, killing three military soldiers in her own home.
" Hm." Tsucko conjured a mana wire on his pointer finger and laid it against the floor. " Nun Zaha, you gave children to the soldiers for nothing, forcing them into being a part of the government and to follow their rules. Practically giving any freedom they had away."
Tsucko violently whipped the wire up at Nun Zasha who could only watch as it slowly approached her.
" Shink."
Luckily for her, her life wasn't over. Though her right arm lay on the floor... Even though the pain was immense she was unable to scream, she only sat and looked at the two once small boys turned killers.
" I'll let you live since you were a good role model for us.[ For the other kids not for me"]
Tsucko and Kalci walked out the front door leaving Nun Zasha surrounded by their horrible deeds and the pain of not only a missing arm but failing to do what she swore to. Raise kids without parents to become good-minded people...
" You know what." Tsucko suddenly stopped a couple of feet away from the building. " She should earn her survival."
"...What do you-"
A bright orange rose from Tsucko's hand as Kalci watched a small fireball shoot toward the orphanage, quickly engulfing it in flames.
"....You learned fire magic."
"Turns out it's one of my inherited techniques."
Tsucko and Kalci turned away from the burning building and continued down the hill toward the small village at the bottom. The crackling of the fire blocked out all sounds of the night behind them as smoke covered the starry sky.
They left their only home to begin their creation of a new world where their will and strength were the only things that dictated their life.
" Our crusade begins now!"
Creation is hard, cheer me up! VOTE for me!
