Capítulo 1: Chapter 1: I became the Main Character

When I opened my eyes I was in a prison.

Grimy walls all around just lit up the candles in the distance. The smell of moss in the musky, stale air as well as the sight of the lightless moons in the distance was fairly intriguing.

Yes.

Moons.

Now, I don't know about anyone else but the world that I was from had only one moon, a moon that we only called moon since when the name of the moon was given to the moon we were unaware that other planets had moons different from our moon.

But yeah, two moons. There were two moons in the sky.

A chuckle escaped me as I realized what was going on.

"It's happened again… hasn't it?"

I had transmigrated into a different world.

But which? Which world was it?

Just as those thoughts entered my mind, sounds of footsteps rang in the distance and someone came walking toward the cellar. The fluttering candle formed a giant shadow on the ground that seemed just as regal as a king would in the old ages.

As the figure of the person grew clearer, his red eyes and black hair entered my sight. Though old and wrinkly, the man exuded the air of a warrior.

In his intricate, on the small handerchief sticking out of his pockets, was etched the embroidery of a black primrose.

I recongnized it, I had seen it just a while back.

"You were arrested again, Ivan il der Estrantia."

Estrania. Yes, the black primrose mark belonged to the house of Estrantia.

And I seemed to have become its youngest scion.

If that wasn't enough.

There was also a system.

Just my luck.

I wasn't that odd of a person. Sure, I may have been making a living up by beating up people who beat people up and extorting money from extortionists, but life was funny like that.

You could die at any time, and even if you achieved something great, what of it? I had done so, and I could say, there was little to no benefit that came along with it.

So I decided to live well in a modest apartment while making forts of beer cans and armies of ordered food all the while taking in the vast expanse of the internet.

In one of such crusades of mine, I had found a popular game amongst RPG enthusiasts. Something new and unique called the <<Verdant Chronicles of the Apostle>>

The name was grandiose, but the plot was anything but.

The trend of people becoming side characters, villains, cannon fodder and party members wronged by the main character or the hero had become so popular amongst people that it had given birth to such a twisted game.

Instead of the Hero, you got to choose to play as either a nameless extra or a cannon fodder villain in the story. It then went on with the absolute ass of a hero getting in your way.

And like was ritualistic of such stories, the player was to cuck the hero out of his story. The hero's harem was just as bad, by the way, and you were supposed to show them who's boss with the best of female leads one could hope for.

Though the game said the world favored the hero, by all means, it were the extras and cannon fodders that the world was geared toward, they were the players after all! And if you completed the game, you also got the option to play as the villain and in a DLC as a member of the Hero's trash party full of girls.

Sounds like a dream, doesn't it?

Such a game, if I had transmigrated into it, there was only roses and rainbows on my path. But life was anything except what one wanted.

Ivan il der Estrantia. This name did not belong to a snobby cannon fodder nor to the extra or even a party member or the villain.

But.

But instead the douchebag of a hero.

Out of all things.

I had transmigrated into the main character.

Since when did that happen too!?

I was now on my way out of the local prison while following the count of Estrantia with my chin pulled up high. I made sure to stop in front of a mirror and take looks at myself if only to guess my age.

My hair was black just like the count's and so were my eyes, if not a shade darker. My physique wasn't as bad as that of a modern person's, but it was fairly lacking according to my standards.

If the stupid system that had latched itself onto me had given me some clues then I could have easily figured out what my capabilities were, but it was out of it too.

As we passed through the streets of the city, the houses going up to two-storeys and best and the city walks with commoners all around highlighted our path toward the estate at the center.

All the people stopped and stared at us, their eyes were filled with reverence at the count and with disgust at me. I guess it wasn't easy to be an ass straight into the game without being one from childhood.

The count said not a word, so I only shrugged the gazes away and cheerfully walked along.

It had been forever since I had breathed in fresh air like this, the amount of mana in the wind was great too.

As I thought of my state, things became a bit clearer. This wasn't my first rodeo anyway.

All I had to do was to fix my personality when the game began and let the extras and cannon fodders take care of the problems of the world.

It was never too late! I just had to make sure I avoided all the flags that got the hero punched and not bully the extras and the cannon fodders, and I could return to my life of chilling out.

We stepped inside the estate of the Estrantia. Many servants lined up and bowed as the count entered.

The count simply walked straight and I followed him.

He led me to his study in the estate and picked up a letter.

I didn't care much. I was too busy trying to recall what happened in the game. The hero was a douche who would harass women and trample on others for the heck of it. Though it got progressively worse, the most damage had been dealt by the hero in the very beginning of the story which ended up uniting the heroines with the player characters.

My physique was too bad, I couldn't be in the academy, the setting of the game yet, not with this kind of body. So there was still chance.

His words cold, he pushed the letter toward me and spoke.

"I won't ask what you got you arrested for god knows which time. But… if you also fail in the second semester of the academy, you will be expelled."

My jaw slammed shut.

The first semester, the tutorial and beginning of the game… was already over?

Then…

"Make sure you behave when you go back to the academy next month."

I was already fucked.

In the context of the Game, the MC is obviously a side character like what happens in most novels these days
