Capítulo 17: Chapter 17
Following Tenya's call, the class quickly releases Bakugo and heads to the stadium.
For Bakugo and the rest of the class, the hallway between the locker rooms and the stadium entrance seemed much longer than it actually was.
As they walked quietly, Present Mic's voice echoed through the stadium powerfully announcing the entrance of Class A.
Under the shouts of the spectators and Present Mic, Bakugo calmly advanced with his head held high, the hint of stalking he had previously been completely erased, giving way to the motivation to win the tournament.
As he quietly walked forward, the gaze of other students fell on them, full of jealousy and anger, on the other hand, the gaze of the thousands of spectators full of expectation and excitement created a special feeling in Bakugo.
As the students calmly approached the podium, Midnight, the heroine who clearly shouldn't be performing next to the students, was waiting for them, cracking a whip that probably doesn't have much experience with villains...
As Bakugo questions the integrity of the school, Fumikage says his thoughts out loud.
"Forbidden at least 18 years old and she has the right to work in a school?"
'Fumikage my friend! Are you the only one with a bit of common sense??'
Mineta seemed delighted, while Bakugo felt the disgust rise in him, Midnight spoke apparently annoyed by the whispers.
"Silence ! Let the representative of the participants come on stage! Second-A Katsuki Bakugo!"
At the call of his name, Bakugo sighed in resignation and walked towards the podium, while he seemed calm, inwardly the possibility of saying anything because of his mouth really scared him.
As he walked, a hand lightly tapped his shoulder "Good luck~"
Bakugo turned around glaring at the owner of the hand, forcing the latter to take a step or two back at the sight of Bakugo's gaze.
Bakugo quickly recognized that person's face, it was Jiro, next to her Tsuyu was also looking at him confused at his reaction.
Izuku next door suddenly waved his hands in front of him "Calm down Kacchan, she just wanted to say good luck to you..."
'...I suddenly got the villain role… As expected of myself actually.'
Seeing Jiro's face, Bakugo forced himself to say complicated words for him, turning his face, he forced the words out.
"Tch…S-Sorry…and thanks I guess"
Gritting his teeth at his words, Bakugo continued on his way.
Behind him, however, the students were all smiling, only one word echoed in their minds but Jiro, the origin of the rumors circulating about Bakugo, spoke it out loud.
"Tsundere…"
Izuku mumbled under his breath, "Kacchan apologizing again… What a development!"
Kirishima next to him nodded "It's true, he's growing up I'm proud of him."
Once again the rumors were going to increase, but Bakugo totally oblivious arrived in front of the microphone on the podium.
Midnight whispered sensually in her ear "Go take the oath~"
Bakugo began to speak into the microphone, quickly observing the faces of the class A students.
"I swear..."
Seeing the amused faces of his comrades, Bakugo frowned, their eyes seemed to be watching him with…. Sympathy and pride?
'What's wrong with them?'
"To always remain number 1."
Bakugo froze slightly and the audience too, Bakugo's brain moved quickly analyzing his words.
'Did I really say that out loud?? Damn these guys messing me up with their glance, I couldn't control my mouth because of them!'
"Shit!"
'I said that out loud again didn't I?'
As fury gripped the students, a barrage of insults rained down on the still stunned Bakugo. The latter preferred to leave the podium quickly to avoid any other accidents.
Approaching the group of his class, everyone had a serious look this time, they seemed to expect such a statement, and such a word from Bakugo could only motivate them.
'Bastards! You couldn't have had those looks before!'
Eventually Bakugo repositioned himself next to his comrades, choosing to ignore the stares and insults directed at him, after all he said wasn't wrong, now just show them.
"Very well, after this fabulous speech, let's launch the first event which will be... An obstacle course!!"
