On a random prison of the planet of Nocturne, 1 ABY...
High up the sky of Nocturne can be seen a gigantic megastructure orbiting the whole planet of Nocturne. The megastructure has the size of a planetoid as the entirety of it was being refurbished. The gigantic laser light show that is the Death was scrapped off of all its weaponry and was instead refurbished to become a pseudo blackstone fortress.
The Death Star or it's now known as Showstopper has 4 main cannons surrounding its horizontal axis on all directions. Each cannon can easily blast a planet to the very last quark it contains.
These 4 cannons can rotate horizontally making it a formidable force and an almost impenetrable defense line.
On the spot where the former main cannon was located a giant hnagar was constructed. This hangar can easily dock more than 5 Emperor-class battleships with more than enough space to dock even more other ships with length shorter than the Emperor-class.
Overall, the Showstopper has more than improved its combat capabilities on a level far higher that it is before. To put this into perspective, if the Death Stra was the Eart, then the current Showstopper is the dimension higher than the highest dimension. That's how big of difference there is.
At this moment, the figure of Darth Vader on a brown tattered clothes can be seen on a labor camp somewhere on the planet of Nocturne.
Ever since he became a prisoner of the Imperium he was worked to death. He has no real rest as he was worked from sunrise to sunrise ever single day ever since he arrived on this wretched volcanic planet that he termed as "personification of hell itself". That's how he despise this shithole of a burning planet.
But during his time here he has met a very specific man whose name consequently has Skywalker as the surname. Of course like any sensible and smart person would do, he befriended him and they became closer to each other. As time slowly passed by he eventually came to a conclusion that Luke is his son. How can he have the same surname as he is when he isn't his son.
As Darth Vader was using his trusty pickace who's given to him when he first arrived, Luke came to him carrying a metals plates filled with their lunch.
"Mr. Starkiller, here's your lunch. The provisions is good today. Probably due to a good harvest."Darth Vader, without his mask just nodded as he sat on a rock and thanked Luke before getting one of the metal plate from the hands of Luke.
"Hmmm, it's really weird on how they created those structures floating high up in the sky. Mr. Starkiller, how do you think they created those?" asked Luke as he pointed at a flying continental size object filled with tall buildings.
"Who knows, I'm more concerned with that moon on the sky. It looks like it's the Death Star." replied Darth Vader as he looked at the being refurbished Death Star high up in the sky. Ever since he realized what they're doing with the Death Star he has thought of different plans on how to sabotage them. He can't possibly let them have the Death Star for themselves, a weapon capable of planetary destruction falling in the hands of the enemy is the last thing you want especially if you did all the construction and theoretical research.
"Well it looks like they're retrofitting the Death Star. Damn it! If I didn't only got distracted that abominable weapon should already be gone by then!" said Luke as he stomped the side of the rock beside him as Darth Vader just looked at him emotionless. Deep in his mind he's thinking of using Luke to accomplish his sabotage plan but he knows his son isn't ready yet. He's too weak, his power wasn't even worth to note specially against those space marines with lighting on their fingertips. He can still feel all the three times he got beaten to near death as each one of them was progressively worse than the other. These memories even shadowed the time when he killed a space marine.
"Now that we're talking about the Death Star, how did you even get here in the first place?" asked Darth Vader as he drank water from his tin metak of a cup.
"Haven't I told you about it Mr. Starkiller? Well, I'm a disciple of Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi. He sacrificed his life to protect us and buy us time to escape from the black cloaked man named Darth Vader, he's a sith by the way." Luke started to tell his story while eating as their lunch became a storytelling time.
"I was orphaned after my auntie and uncle died on Tatooine and there, I met master Kenobi as he trained me to become a jedi." continued Luke as he drank water from his bottle.
"I see, so how do you feel about the Empire? Do you hate them?" asked Darth Vader a she peered into the feelings of the boy to try and see if he can turn him into the dark side.
"Before I do not, but after master Kenobi told me that Darth Vader killed my father I hated them!" answered Luke truthfully as he remembered the scene where Obi-Wan told him the "truth".
"How about the Imperium? How do you think about them?" further asked Darth Vader as he finished his food and set aside the empty metal plate.
"I don't know..." Luke was stunned by the question as he started to contemplate abiut his feelings to the Imperium. He really can't see them being any better than the Empire, heck, he thinks that they're worse than the Empire in all fields by a great magnitude.
But, everything he saw up until now was fairly the same as that of the Empire. They both have slaves and was both xenophobic except the Imperium has it cranked up by 40,000 and is someone that isn't grounded by morality or ethics making them the worse between the two.
However, up until now, Luke still doesn't know how to feel about them. He has heard of news here and there but even those are probably falsified just like the victories of the Empire over them.
"That's fine Luke, that's fine."
Just then, they heard a ear shattering sound, a signal for them to line up in the entrance of the mine.
As Luke and Darth Vader walked they saw space marines clad in green power armor. Darth Vader suddenly remembered his time with Vulkan, something he doesn't want to feel again. He thought the man himself was not into that sort of things but from his experience, he really know he has a thing for burning people then healing them then burning them again. Such inhumane act made Darth Vader feel something crawling in his skin.
As if the destiny is pranking him. Darth Vader has came face to face with Vulkan once more, and this time, he won't probably survive.
