Karlo inspected her body up and down with a bewildered look, but felt nothing at all — and because of that, she grew even more anxious, uncertain if there was an underlying threat.

Just then, a bat-like thing suddenly swooped out of the darkness at high speed!

The little creature's speed was astonishing; it almost blinked before it flew right in front of Karlo, but Karlo was faster! She was genuinely startled and reflexively punched, sending the barely-seen creature flying away with a clang, as the bat-sized demon's body slammed against the ceiling and then crumbled into ashes.

But this was just the beginning!
