I sat on a rough wooden bench, wincing as I examined the bruises from our recent encounter with the lion. Even with Hercules' divine healing abilities, being batted around by a mythological beast wasn't exactly pleasant.

"So," Iolaus said, dropping our pile of broken weapons in the corner, "what exactly did we learn from that disaster, other than the fact that the lion is completely impossible to hurt?" He was trying to sound annoyed, but I could hear the worry in his voice.

I pulled out my notes, which had somehow survived our retreat. "Actually, we learned quite a bit. First, the lion's hide really is impervious to weapons, but it moves like regular fur - it bends and flexes. Second, its strength is enormous, but it still follows natural laws of movement.
