Rukelion deflected the question as best he could even though he already knew the answer Daisy would give him. It had been in her file. 

She sighed and swirled her straw around in her water. "I've been here my whole life. I'd love to leave but, as you know, moving out of state is expensive. I'd have to do house hunting trips too since I wouldn't bother until I had enough money to buy my own land. Then I'd have to find a new job out there. Realistically, I'll be stuck here until I die."

He shuddered at the reference to her dying. It had already happened right in front of him once and he had only been able to find her again because of a fluke. He didn't know why her soul had gone to Mirea while she was comatose in her original world but that was the only reason he had been able to get her back. If she died again, there would be no coming back from that.
